Comic book shops in St. John's

The map for St. John's, NL's comic shops is still blank. Our search covered roughly 40 km around St. John's, looking through OpenStreetMap for comic shops, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

Why comic shops matter

A comic shop is a town's geek community centre: the Wednesday regulars, the game nights, the staff who know your taste better than any algorithm. Lose them and the community scatters to the internet. That's why this page exists even with nothing to list — we'd rather show an honest blank than invent shops in St. John's.

St. John's sits about 48° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak comics season: dark evenings, the big event storylines running, and the Wednesday ritual at its cosiest.

Every shop that gets mapped here appears in alphabetical order with what the community map knows: address, hours, website. No sponsored slots, ever.

Comic smarts for St. John's

No mapped comic shops yet, but the comics habits work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Check the sale bins. The discount long boxes turn over constantly. A dollar a comic for reading copies is unbeatable.
• Try digital for sampling. Digital issues are cheap for trying series. When you love one, buy the physical from your shop.
• Visit on Free Comic Book Day. First Saturday in May. Free comics, creators, costumes — the best day to discover a new shop.
• Check the toys and statues. The collectibles wall funds the comics side. Fun to browse, dangerous for the wallet.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying comic shop appears in St. John's's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's comic shops listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A comic shop in St. John's needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=comics — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the comic shop's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
