What counts as a comic shop in Tainan

A shop built around comics: new issues, back issues, trades, usually with the games and collectibles alongside. What doesn't count: the graphic-novel shelf at the bookstore, and online-only sellers. The bar is a real shop where Wednesday means new comics.

Tainan sits near the equator. There's no real off-season for comics here — new issues land every Wednesday year-round, and the ritual doesn't care about weather.

When comic shops in Tainan get mapped, they appear here with addresses and hours where recorded. Mapped means listed — no paid placement, no favourites.

Comic smarts for Tainan

No mapped comic shops yet, but the comics habits work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Ask about local creators. Many shops stock local indie creators and host signings. It's the most direct way to support comics in your town.
• Learn the publishers. Beyond the big two there's a whole ecosystem. A quick education in publishers opens up the whole shop.
• Keep them out of the sun. UV fades covers fast. A sunny shelf is a slow-motion disaster for a collection.
• Try the indie shelf. The big two dominate the wall, but the indie shelf is where the interesting work lives. Take a chance on the weird cover.

The kind of shop that belongs here

Somewhere you can pull a weekly list and dig long boxes: a proper comic shop. Not a bookstore shelf — the real thing.

When a qualifying comic shop gets mapped in Tainan, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.
