Tattoo shops in Taichung

A tattoo is a permanent decision made in a room you'll spend hours in, so the studio matters as much as the artist. Taichung, Taichung has 6 tattoo shops mapped right now. All 6 are mapped as tattoo studios proper, and each one is worth a portfolio browse before you commit — style varies more between shops than towns.

This guide covers every tattoo shop we could verify in and around Taichung (within about 40 km), built from OpenStreetMap's community-maintained data. Names you'll run into include 小林刺青殿 and 祥鶴刺青, plus 夜行刺青. If a studio's missing from Taichung's list, it probably just hasn't been mapped yet — the scene is bigger than any single dataset.

What the map tells us about tattoo shops in Taichung

1 of the 6 list their opening hours on the map, which is genuinely useful — tattoo studios often work by appointment, so posted hours can be more of a guideline than a promise.

The one mapped tattoo shop sits on 356-1 軍福十六路 — worth combining with whatever else brings you to that side of town.

Tattoo tips for Taichung

First tattoo or fiftieth — the rules don't change in Taichung:

• Don't haggle on price at 小林刺青殿. You're paying for hours of someone's skilled labour on your skin forever. Bargain hunting has no place in a tattoo shop.
• Tip your artist at 祥鶴刺青. Standard practice, like any skilled service. Twenty percent is the usual benchmark for good work.
• Book a consultation first. Most good shops offer free consults. You get to meet the artist, talk placement and price, and see how clean the place is.
• Cover-ups need a specialist. Not every artist does good cover-ups. Look for healed cover-up photos in the portfolio, not just fresh work.

Good to know

We searched about 40 km around Taichung — that covers the town itself plus the surrounding communities you'd reasonably drive to. Listings come from OpenStreetMap, mapped by local volunteers, so a brand-new tattoo shop in Taichung can take a while to appear. The 6 above are only as current as the community map. A tattoo shop that's shut, or a new one nobody's added yet, gets fixed with a single OpenStreetMap edit.

We don't rate studios or artists, and we never list prices — those are between you and the shop. What we list is the where and the how-to-find, from places real mappers have verified.

If you run one of the 6 listed here and something's wrong — a closure, a move, new hours — the fix is the same: update the shop on OpenStreetMap and the correction flows through to this page on the next daily refresh.
