Thrifting tips for Gothenburg

A few things worth knowing before you work through Gothenburg's thrift stores:

Go early in the week at Arkivet. Donations land on weekends, so Monday and Tuesday shelves are the freshly stocked ones. By Saturday the good stuff is gone.
Visit at opening time at Röda Korset Second Hand. Serious pickers arrive at opening. You don't have to be one of them, but the first hour has the best pick of the day's restock.
