What counts as an arcade in Sighișoara

A venue built around coin-op and pay-per-play games: classic arcades, bar-arcades, family entertainment centres with a real games floor. What doesn't count: the two dusty cabinets in the laundromat, and casino floors. The bar is a dedicated games venue you can walk into.

Sighișoara sits about 46° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Arcades are gloriously weatherproof, and winter is peak season: when it's dark at five, the neon looks its best and the floors are busiest.

When arcades in Sighișoara get mapped, they appear here with addresses and hours where recorded. Mapped means listed — no paid placement, no favourites.

Arcade smarts for Sighișoara

No mapped arcades yet, but the arcade skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Racing games: sit properly. Feet on the pedals, hands at nine and three. The cabinet is a simulator if you treat it like one.
• Dance machines are cardio. Serious players treat them as workouts. Bring water, wear real shoes, and don't be embarrassed — everyone starts somewhere.
• Check the payment system first. Tokens, reloadable cards, coins, or tap-to-play — every venue differs. Ask at the counter before you feed the wrong thing.
• Weekday mornings are empty. If you want a machine to yourself for practice, weekday mornings are dead quiet.

What earns a listing in Sighișoara

Our bar is a dedicated games venue open to the public. Arcades, bar-arcades, retro gaming bars — if the machines are the point, it qualifies. Casino floors don't.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying arcade appears in Sighișoara's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

Put Sighișoara on the map

Know an arcade here that isn't listed? The fastest route onto this page runs through OpenStreetMap: add it as leisure=amusement_arcade with its name and address, and it'll appear here after our next daily refresh. Local knowledge beats every dataset. The most useful details are the arcade's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
