Privacy Policy

Dayfari ("we", "us", "our") helps you discover local events, free things to
do, and stops along your road trips. This policy explains what information we
handle when you use the Dayfari app and dayfari.com.
Information we collect
- Location. If you grant location permission, the app uses
your location to show events near you. Your location is sent to our servers
(api.dayfari.com) only to fetch nearby events. We do not track your movements
or build a history of where you go.
- Things you save in the app. Saved events, reminders, road
trips, and your interest picks are stored only on your device.
We never see or receive them.
- Photos you add. Photos you attach to events are stored
only on your device.
- Road-trip searches. The start, end, and preferences you
enter are sent to our servers to compute your route and find stops along it.
- Purchases. Premium subscriptions are processed by Google
Play. We receive confirmation of your subscription status so the app can unlock
premium features — we never see your payment details.
- Website visits. Our event, city, and weekend pages are
static and set no tracking cookies. Our web server keeps standard operational
logs (such as pages requested) for a short time to keep the site running.
- Business and event submissions. If you submit a business
or event for listing, we keep what you send us: the listing details (which may
be published on dayfari.com after review) and your contact email, which we use
only if we have a question about your submission. Your email is never published
and never shared. Every submission is reviewed by a person before anything
goes live. We do not keep your IP address — we only store a short,
same-day code derived from it to catch spam waves, and it cannot identify
you.
What we do NOT do
- We do not require accounts, usernames, or passwords.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- The app contains no advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking.
Third parties
- Ticketmaster — provides event listings shown in the app
and on this website.
- Google Play — processes premium subscription payments
under Google's own privacy policy.
- Map tile providers (OpenStreetMap contributors) — when the
app displays a map, your device requests map tiles directly from them, as with
any map on the web.
Data retention
Information on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the
app. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security,
then discarded.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR, California under
CCPA/CPRA, and Canada under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25), you may have the right
to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Because most of your
data lives only on your device, uninstalling the app deletes it. For anything
else, email us at hello@dayfari.com with the subject
"Privacy Request" and we will respond.
Children
Dayfari is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date at the top
shows the latest version, and material changes will be reflected here.
