Gallery tips for Cardigan

A few things worth knowing before you work through Cardigan's art galleries:

• Buy local art if you can at Vlad-Art Gallery. An original from a local artist costs less than you think and means more than any print. Start with works on paper.
• Check accessibility at Corn Exchange Gallery. Older gallery buildings can be tricky. The website usually notes step-free access — check before you go.
• Bring a curious friend. Art is better with someone to argue with about it. The disagreement is the point.
• Go to opening nights. Free entry, the artists in the room, and a crowd that wants to talk about the work. The best gallery experience there is.

Good to know

We searched about 25 km around Cardigan — that covers the town itself plus the surrounding communities you'd reasonably drive to. Listings come from OpenStreetMap, mapped by local volunteers, so a brand-new art gallery in Cardigan can take a while to appear. Spotted a closure among the 2, or a art gallery we missed entirely? The map is the source of truth here — one OpenStreetMap edit corrects it for everyone.

We don't review exhibitions — shows change too fast. What we list is the where: real galleries, verified by real mappers.

If you run one of the 2 listed here and something's wrong — a closure, a move, new hours — the fix is the same: update the shop on OpenStreetMap and the correction flows through to this page on the next daily refresh.
