Art galleries in Izamal

Galleries are best taken slowly. Izamal, Yucatán has 1 mapped right now. Just the one mapped gallery in Izamal so far — check its exhibition schedule, since the show changes everything. Opening nights are the cheat code — free entry, the artists in the room, and a crowd that actually wants to talk about the work.

This guide covers every art gallery we could verify in and around Izamal (within about 25 km), built from OpenStreetMap's community-maintained data. The one to know is Dooley. If a gallery's missing from Izamal's list, it probably just hasn't been mapped yet.

Gallery tips for Izamal

A few things worth knowing before you work through Izamal's art galleries:

• Read the wall text at Dooley. It's short and it's there to help. Even the cryptic ones give you a way into the work.
• Bring a curious friend. Art is better with someone to argue with about it. The disagreement is the point.
• Buy the catalogue. Exhibition catalogues are the affordable art book. They sell out after the show closes.
• Check the exhibition schedule first. A gallery is only as good as its current show. Two minutes on the website saves a wasted trip between exhibitions.

Good to know

We searched about 25 km around Izamal — that covers the town itself plus the surrounding communities you'd reasonably drive to. Listings come from OpenStreetMap, mapped by local volunteers, so a brand-new art gallery in Izamal can take a while to appear. Spotted a closure among the 1, or a art gallery we missed entirely? The map is the source of truth here — one OpenStreetMap edit corrects it for everyone.

We don't review exhibitions — shows change too fast. What we list is the where: real galleries, verified by real mappers.

If you run one of the 1 listed here and something's wrong — a closure, a move, new hours — the fix is the same: update the shop on OpenStreetMap and the correction flows through to this page on the next daily refresh.
