Who is it for?

This hands-on workshop with Artist William Estrada explores the rich cultural traditions surrounding Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos), with a particular focus on the construction and significance of altars and ofrendas. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how these elements serve as a bridge between the living and the departed, providing a space for remembrance, honor, and celebration.
Through guided instruction and creative exploration, participants will be encouraged to create small, personal sculptural objects. These sculptural creations should reflect their individual cultural heritage and serve as heartfelt tributes to cherished loved ones who have passed. The objects will then become integral components in the collaborative construction of a communal Day of the Dead altar, symbolizing a collective act of remembrance and support within the workshop community.
