A Novel in November

Description

With homage to National Novel Writing Month, join award-winning Ojibwe novelist, Marcie Rendon, for a series of three workshops to learn basic elements of writing a novel. For adult and teen writers at any stage of their career. Registration required for all three sessions. Collaborator: More Than a Single Story.

This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Week 1 (October 29): When, Where, and Who This week we will spend time deciding the genre of your novel, where it will take place, and the arc of the story. We will also work with character development: Who your characters will be: the protagonist, the antagonist, and a side-kick. Week 2 (November 5): Creating Tension In this session we will consider our main characters’ back stories.
