In a representative review, Electric Literature called her 2014 debut, experimental ghost story Faces in the Crowd , “one of those rare books that manages to upend one’s idea of what might be possible in fiction.” Her follow-ups include The Story of My Teeth (2015), winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay in 40 Questions , a finalist for the Kirkus Prize. Luiselli reached a still wider audience with Lost Children Archive (2019), a lyrical novel about a family whose road trip across America collides with a mounting immigration crisis at the southern border.
