Backcountry Users Rescue and Survival Training with Miles Randell

Description

Let’s discuss the space after AST and first aid occur, but before organized rescue arrives. We all practise our avalanche safety skills and first aid skills, but do you know what happens when you hit your SOS button? Do you know how to manage an injured person while waiting for organized rescue to arrive? Or are you wanting to learn more about winter self rescue?

About Miles Miles has been an avid ski tourer/ski mountaineer since the 90’s. He’s currently enjoying introducing his 10 year old son to ski touring. Miles is one of the founders and president of TEAAM Aeromedical, a non-profit wilderness air ambulance program based in BC. He also runs a first aid program called SARMed. He has been involved in search and rescue activities internationally since 1991 including years with Squamish SAR and North Shore Rescue.
