Séances were all the rage a century ago. Having begun to fall out of fashion in the early 1900s, they experienced a resurgence after the deadly years of the First World War and the Spanish Flu as people held out hope they could still communicate with their lost loved ones.
In the third lecture of this series by author Adam Bunch, we'll explore the history of séances during those turbulent times, from those who truly believed in their power, to the fraudsters who preyed on a grieving city, to the prime minister who took advice from the spirits of the dead.
