What counts as a comic shop in Caernarfon

A shop built around comics: new issues, back issues, trades, usually with the games and collectibles alongside. What doesn't count: the graphic-novel shelf at the bookstore, and online-only sellers. The bar is a real shop where Wednesday means new comics.

Caernarfon sits about 53° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak comics season: dark evenings, the big event storylines running, and the Wednesday ritual at its cosiest.

When comic shops in Caernarfon get mapped, they appear here with addresses and hours where recorded. Mapped means listed — no paid placement, no favourites.

Comic smarts for Caernarfon

No mapped comic shops yet, but the comics habits work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Bring a friend on Wednesdays. New-comic day with a friend, coffee after. The ritual is half the hobby.
• Ask about subscriber discounts. Many shops discount pull-list customers. Ten percent off adds up fast when you buy weekly.
• Learn the grading basics. Mint, near mint, fine — condition drives price. Check for spine ticks, colour breaks, and sharp corners before you pay.
• Check the kids' section. All-ages comics are genuinely great now, not watered down. The kids' shelf is a joy even for adults.
