Comic book shops in Filey

The map for Filey, North Yorkshire's comic shops is still blank. Our search covered roughly 12 km around Filey, looking through OpenStreetMap for comic shops, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

Why comic shops matter

A comic shop is a town's geek community centre: the Wednesday regulars, the game nights, the staff who know your taste better than any algorithm. Lose them and the community scatters to the internet. That's why this page exists even with nothing to list — we'd rather show an honest blank than invent shops in Filey.

Filey sits about 54° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak comics season: dark evenings, the big event storylines running, and the Wednesday ritual at its cosiest.

Every shop that gets mapped here appears in alphabetical order with what the community map knows: address, hours, website. No sponsored slots, ever.

Comic smarts for Filey

No mapped comic shops yet, but the comics habits work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Ask about game nights. Many comic shops run Magic, Pokémon, or board game nights. It's the community centre side of the shop.
• Visit on Free Comic Book Day. First Saturday in May. Free comics, creators, costumes — the best day to discover a new shop.
• Don't be embarrassed to start. Everyone starts somewhere. 'I've never read comics, where do I begin?' is a question staff hear happily every week.
• Learn what a key issue is. First appearances and landmark issues — the keys — hold value. The staff can point out which back issues matter.

The kind of shop that belongs here

Somewhere you can pull a weekly list and dig long boxes: a proper comic shop. Not a bookstore shelf — the real thing.

When a qualifying comic shop gets mapped in Filey, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying comic shop appears in Filey's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's comic shops listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A comic shop in Filey needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=comics — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the comic shop's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
