Comic book shops in Kandy

The map for Kandy, Central's comic shops is still blank. Our search covered roughly 25 km around Kandy, looking through OpenStreetMap for comic shops, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

The new reader's playbook

Until Kandy has mapped comic shops, here's how to start anywhere. Walk in on a Wednesday and say you've never read comics — staff hear it happily every week. Start a pull list so you never miss an issue. Try the indie shelf alongside the big titles. And bag and board anything you want to keep; it costs pennies.

Kandy sits near the equator. There's no real off-season for comics here — new issues land every Wednesday year-round, and the ritual doesn't care about weather.

The back-issue long boxes are the real treasure: full runs of older series at a fraction of collected-edition prices.

Comic smarts for Kandy

No mapped comic shops yet, but the comics habits work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Bag and board your finds. Acid-free bags and backing boards cost pennies and save collections. Shops sell them; buy them there.
• Don't be embarrassed to start. Everyone starts somewhere. 'I've never read comics, where do I begin?' is a question staff hear happily every week.
• Dig the back issues. The long boxes are the shop's memory. Full runs of older series hide here at a fraction of collected-edition prices.
• Learn the grading basics. Mint, near mint, fine — condition drives price. Check for spine ticks, colour breaks, and sharp corners before you pay.

The kind of shop that belongs here

Somewhere you can pull a weekly list and dig long boxes: a proper comic shop. Not a bookstore shelf — the real thing.

When a qualifying comic shop gets mapped in Kandy, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying comic shop appears in Kandy's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

Put Kandy on the map

Know a comic shop here that isn't listed? The fastest route onto this page runs through OpenStreetMap: add it as shop=comics with its name and address, and it'll appear here after our next daily refresh. Local knowledge beats every dataset. The most useful details are the comic shop's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
