Born in Oulu, Riikka Keränen is one of Finland's most compelling jazz vocalists. Her music blends elements of post-bop jazz with a more pop-oriented sensibility, combining warmth, sensitivity and expressive storytelling. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to bring the timeless language of jazz into the present day. A versatile performer, Keränen feels equally at home in concert halls, on festival stages and in intimate jazz clubs. With her rich, honey-toned voice and captivating interpretations, she draws audiences into her musical world. In addition to leading her own ensembles, Keränen is also known as a member of the vocal group Signe, which has received Emma and Teosto Award nominations, and the Emma Award-winning children's music ensemble Megasakki.
