Fitness in Alma

A town of 30,331 that trains through winter indoors: two Ville arena complexes, an indoor track and a climbing wall at the Centre multisport, and a private conditioning centre inside the main arena - four verified listings, all in Alma.

Photos for Alma are still on their way. Every listing below is real.

Staying active where winter is half the year

Alma's fitness life runs through its municipal recreation machine, and that machine is unusually complete for a town of 30,331: two arena complexes, an indoor athletics track, a climbing wall, drop-in swims and skates priced on a published 2026 tariff grid, and one established private conditioning centre working out of the main arena building. The Ville's Service des loisirs et de la culture publishes the schedules on its own calendar at quoifairealma.com, and this page cards the four Alma-seated subjects that verified at that grade.

The seat rule applies here too. The big chain gyms of Saguenay - forty-five minutes east - are Saguenay's, and the 24-hour gym over in Saint-Bruno is Saint-Bruno's. Neither is an Alma listing, however the directories file them. Where the Ville's own surfaces disagreed with each other on a price, both figures are printed and the conflict is flagged, never merged.

The Ville's own facilities

Centre Mario-Tremblay - the main arena complex and the drop-in spine

605 boul. Saint-Luc Ouest, Alma · Drop-in activities per the Ville's TARIFICATION 2026 grid - see the price flag on this card

The CMT is the centre of Alma's sporting life: the Aiglons' hockey, the provincial M18 tournament each January, public skating and free hockey sessions on the Ville's drop-in grid. The Ville's own TARIFICATION 2026 prices a single drop-in entry - swim, skate, track or free hockey - at 3,05 $, with a fifteen-activity card at 35 $. One flag, printed because both sources are the Ville's own: the Ville's calendar page prices evening and weekend adult sessions at 3,50 $. The two grids were never merged; carry small change either way and check the week's grid before you go. The complex also houses the private Physico-Regain centre, carded below. Centre multisport d'Alma - the indoor track and the climbing wall

Alma · Indoor track annual pass 51 $ per the Ville's TARIFICATION 2026 grid

The multisport centre is where Alma trains through the winter: an indoor athletics track the Ville prices at 51 $ for the year - 25,50 $ from June - and a climbing wall, the paroi d'escalade, with day rates and an annual card on the same 2026 grid, a top-rope accreditation card and waiver required and harness loan free at the equipment desk. Badminton, pickleball and tennis terrains book by the hour on the Ville's grids. For a runner or climber landing in Alma in January, this building is the answer. Centre sportif Mistouk - the north sector's arena in Saint-Coeur-de-Marie

401 rue Mistouk, Saint-Coeur-de-Marie sector, Alma

The second ice of the Ville's drop-in grid, up in the Saint-Coeur-de-Marie sector - Alma's north end since the fusions, and in town by seat. Public skating and free hockey run here on the same published pattern as the CMT, with a Sunday block the Ville dates expressly across the season. If you live at the north end, this is your rink; if you are visiting, it is the quieter of the two. Schedules ride the Ville's calendar, and the CMT card's price flag applies here too - both Ville grids are printed there, unmerged.

The private gym

Physico-Regain - the conditioning centre inside the Centre Mario-Tremblay

605 boul. Saint-Luc, Centre Mario-Tremblay, Alma · +1 418-668-4003 · Mon-Thu 6 a.m.-10 p.m., Fri 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Sat-Sun 7 a.m.-5 p.m. per its place record

Alma's established private conditioning centre works out of the CMT itself, which makes the pairing easy: skate in the morning, train in the same building. On its own account it staffs kinesiologists and physical-rehabilitation technicians, keeps its equipment current and prices accessibly, and runs three streams - the open training floor, supervised Physico group classes adapted to every age and condition, and spinning classes for the cycling crowd - with adapted programmes, fitness assessments and private or home training on the menu, and reduced rates for couples, families and the 65-plus. This is the card for anyone who wants a coach rather than a key fob. Physico-Regain's site.

Named, not carded - and the refusals

Named at directory strength: the Centre de Sante d'Alma (200 boul. de Quen N), directory-listed as a gym and fitness centre but carrying no operator surface this pass strong enough to card. The Hotel Universel's small fitness room and indoor pool are real, and they are a hotel amenity for its guests - named here so nobody drives across town expecting a public gym. Refused outright: an Energie Cardio listing that directories attach to this region is seated in Saguenay and marked permanently closed besides, and the 24-hour gym at Saint-Bruno is that town's listing. Neither will ever appear as an Alma gym on this page.
