Confirmed dates
Scary Story Contest - entry deadline (Terry Fox Library partnership)
Oct 18, 2026 · Terry Fox Library (Fraser Valley Regional Library) · Free to enter
Dated deadline record: the Tri-Cities Scary Story Contest, run in partnership by Coquitlam Public Library, Port Moody Public Library and Port Coquitlam's Terry Fox Library (FVRL), closes to entries at 11:59 PM on Sunday 2026-10-18 (weekday as published by the contest listing and
verified in America/Vancouver). Halloween Howl - Hyde Creek Recreation Centre
Oct 24, 2026 · Hyde Creek Recreation Centre
The City of Port Coquitlam's Halloween Howl returns to Hyde Creek Recreation Centre on Saturday 2026-10-24 (weekday verified in America/Vancouver), listed on the City's own community calendar, 11:30 AM-3:30 PM.
The City's fall leisure guide gives the format as two registered carnival sessions, 11:30 AM-1:00 PM and 2:00-3:30 PM, and the City's release for the most recent edition describes an indoor celebration for children 10 and under in costume, with carnival games such as pumpkin bowling, fortune telling and a haunted house, plus a drop-in spooky swim in the pool. The 2026 guide said registration details were still to come, so no 2026 price is recorded here - the closer confirms the 2026 activity listing and pricing on portcoquitlam.ca/register at build.
Halloween Spooky Skate - Port Coquitlam Community Centre
Oct 31, 2026 · Port Coquitlam Community Centre
The City of Port Coquitlam's community calendar lists a Halloween Spooky Skate on Saturday 2026-10-31, 3:30-5:00 PM (weekday verified in America/Vancouver); a 2026 Metro Vancouver Halloween roundup lists the same date for a Port Coquitlam Halloween skate.
VENUE FLAG: the calendar entry does not name a venue; the Port Coquitlam Community Centre is recorded because it is the City's arena/public-skating venue - the closer confirms the venue on the City's skating schedule before publish. No price was published in the sources read - none is recorded.

Good to know
- Haunted houses sell out on the last two weekends — book ahead, don't walk up.
- Pumpkin patches are best on weekday mornings: smaller crowds, better light for photos.
- Bring cash for the farm stands; card readers and corn mazes don't always mix.
- Check age guidance before bringing small kids to a haunt — 'family fright nights' are the gentler pick.
