Record stores in Bloemfontein

We haven't mapped any record stores in Bloemfontein, Free State yet. We searched about 30 km around town in OpenStreetMap's community data — record stores — and came up empty. That usually means the places exist but nobody's mapped them, not that there's nothing to find. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

What counts as a record store in Bloemfontein

A shop whose main business is selling recorded music on physical formats: new vinyl, used vinyl, or both. That covers independents and the specialists. What doesn't count: the vinyl wall at the lifestyle chain, and online-only sellers. The bar is a real shop with real bins to dig.

Bloemfontein sits about 29° south of the equator, so the seasons run flipped. Winter here runs June to August, and it's peak digging season — long evenings made for flipping through bins.

When record shops in Bloemfontein get mapped, they appear here with addresses and hours where recorded. Mapped means listed — no paid placement, no favourites.

Digging smarts for Bloemfontein

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Check Discogs before big purchases. A quick price check on your phone keeps everyone honest — you and the shop.
• Sleeves matter for value. Original inner sleeves, inserts, posters — completeness counts. A bare record in a generic sleeve is worth less.
• Learn the grading. Mint, near mint, very good — and check whether the grade is visual or play-graded. A visual VG+ can play like an EX.
• Handle records properly in the shop. By the edges, never the grooves. Shops notice, and so do the records.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Bloemfontein needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
