Record stores in Dauphin

We haven't mapped any record stores in Dauphin, Manitoba yet. We searched about 25 km around town in OpenStreetMap's community data — record stores — and came up empty. That usually means the places exist but nobody's mapped them, not that there's nothing to find. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

What counts as a record store in Dauphin

A shop whose main business is selling recorded music on physical formats: new vinyl, used vinyl, or both. That covers independents and the specialists. What doesn't count: the vinyl wall at the lifestyle chain, and online-only sellers. The bar is a real shop with real bins to dig.

Dauphin sits about 51° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak digging season: dark evenings, the new-arrivals bin fresh from the autumn collection sell-offs, and nowhere better to spend a Saturday.

When record shops in Dauphin get mapped, they appear here with addresses and hours where recorded. Mapped means listed — no paid placement, no favourites.

Digging smarts for Dauphin

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Handle records properly in the shop. By the edges, never the grooves. Shops notice, and so do the records.
• Check for warps in the shop. Hold the record at eye level and sight along it. Warps that look minor at home look obvious in the store.
• Check the bargain wall rhythm. Shops restock the cheap sections on cycles. Ask when — that's when the fresh bargains land.
• Buy the weird stuff. Private pressings, local bands, oddball compilations — the strange records are the ones that appreciate.

The kind of shop that belongs here

Somewhere you can flip through crates: an independent record shop, a used vinyl specialist. Not a department store aisle — a real dig.

When a qualifying record store gets mapped in Dauphin, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Dauphin's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

How Dauphin gets on the record stores map

Every listing on Dayfari starts as an OpenStreetMap edit by a local volunteer. If you know a record store in Dauphin, adding it to the map (tagged shop=music) is the fastest way to get it listed here — our next refresh picks it up automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
