Record stores in Hạ Long

Zero mapped record stores in Hạ Long, Northeast Vietnam — for now. We checked OpenStreetMap within about 25 km of Hạ Long for record stores. No hits yet, which most often means the places are there but unmapped, not absent. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

Digging around Hạ Long anyway

No mapped record shops doesn't mean no vinyl. The usual stand-ins: charity-shop record sections (priced to move, restocked by donations), estate sales, flea markets, and the nearest city's record shops — worth a day trip with a want-list and a full tank.

Hạ Long sits near the equator. There's no real off-season for digging here, so shops restock on their own rhythms — ask when new used stock hits the floor.

And ask at the library: some lend vinyl now, and librarians always know where the local collectors trade.

Digging smarts for Hạ Long

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Don't clean records with your shirt. A proper brush costs little and saves grooves. Shirt fibres and spit are how records get ruined.
• Check Discogs before big purchases. A quick price check on your phone keeps everyone honest — you and the shop.
• The listening station is the test. If a record looks questionable, play the loud passages. That's where surface noise shows up.
• Genre-hop. The best finds are in the sections you don't know. Jazz collectors find gold in the classical bins and vice versa.

The kind of shop that belongs here

Somewhere you can flip through crates: an independent record shop, a used vinyl specialist. Not a department store aisle — a real dig.

When a qualifying record store gets mapped in Hạ Long, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Hạ Long's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

Put Hạ Long on the map

Know a record store here that isn't listed? The fastest route onto this page runs through OpenStreetMap: add it as shop=music with its name and address, and it'll appear here after our next daily refresh. Local knowledge beats every dataset. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
