Record stores in Moroni

Zero mapped record stores in Moroni, Grande Comore — for now. We checked OpenStreetMap within about 40 km of Moroni for record stores. No hits yet, which most often means the places are there but unmapped, not absent. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

New, used, and the difference

New vinyl is the reissues and current pressings — reliable, returnable, full price. Used is the adventure: originals, oddities, and prices set by knowledge and whim. The best shops do both, and the best diggers learn both games. Check a phone price guide before big purchases; it keeps everyone honest.

Moroni sits near the equator. There's no real off-season for digging here, so shops restock on their own rhythms — ask when new used stock hits the floor.

When Moroni's shops do get mapped, the used-tagged ones are where the deep digging happens.

Digging smarts for Moroni

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Ask to play it. Good shops have turntables for exactly this. If they won't let you listen, that's information too.
• Sleeves matter for value. Original inner sleeves, inserts, posters — completeness counts. A bare record in a generic sleeve is worth less.
• Check Discogs before big purchases. A quick price check on your phone keeps everyone honest — you and the shop.
• Don't clean records with your shirt. A proper brush costs little and saves grooves. Shirt fibres and spit are how records get ruined.

Put Moroni on the map

Know a record store here that isn't listed? The fastest route onto this page runs through OpenStreetMap: add it as shop=music with its name and address, and it'll appear here after our next daily refresh. Local knowledge beats every dataset. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
