Record stores in Naramata

We haven't mapped any record stores in Naramata, British Columbia yet. We searched about 25 km around town in OpenStreetMap's community data — record stores — and came up empty. That usually means the places exist but nobody's mapped them, not that there's nothing to find. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

New, used, and the difference

New vinyl is the reissues and current pressings — reliable, returnable, full price. Used is the adventure: originals, oddities, and prices set by knowledge and whim. The best shops do both, and the best diggers learn both games. Check a phone price guide before big purchases; it keeps everyone honest.

Naramata sits about 50° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak digging season: dark evenings, the new-arrivals bin fresh from the autumn collection sell-offs, and nowhere better to spend a Saturday.

When Naramata's shops do get mapped, the used-tagged ones are where the deep digging happens.

Digging smarts for Naramata

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Learn the grading. Mint, near mint, very good — and check whether the grade is visual or play-graded. A visual VG+ can play like an EX.
• Check the dead wax. The runout groove holds matrix numbers that identify pressings. Collectors live by these; a quick phone search settles it.
• Learn your labels. Certain labels mean certain quality. A quick education in the labels of your favourite genres pays off fast.
• Bring cash for the small shops. Some independents prefer it, and a cash offer on a stack can occasionally move the price.

What earns a listing in Naramata

Our bar is a walk-in shop selling recorded music on physical formats. New, used, or both — if the bins are the business, it qualifies.

When a qualifying record store gets mapped in Naramata, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Naramata's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Naramata needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
