Record stores in Okanagan Falls

The map for Okanagan Falls, British Columbia's record stores is still blank. Our search covered roughly 25 km around Okanagan Falls, looking through OpenStreetMap for record stores, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

The digger's playbook

Until Okanagan Falls has mapped record shops, here's how to work any bins. Hit new arrivals first. Learn the grading — visual versus play-grade matters. Check the vinyl in good light, not just the sleeve. Ask to play anything questionable. Bring a want-list, bring cash for the small shops, and flip through the whole dollar bin — the joy-per-dollar ratio is unbeatable.

Okanagan Falls sits about 49° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak digging season: dark evenings, the new-arrivals bin fresh from the autumn collection sell-offs, and nowhere better to spend a Saturday.

And genre-hop. The best finds live in the sections you don't know — jazz collectors find gold in classical bins and vice versa.

Digging smarts for Okanagan Falls

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Check for box sets. Box sets get broken up or sold whole; either way the per-record price is often excellent.
• The listening station is the test. If a record looks questionable, play the loud passages. That's where surface noise shows up.
• Check Discogs before big purchases. A quick price check on your phone keeps everyone honest — you and the shop.
• Learn your labels. Certain labels mean certain quality. A quick education in the labels of your favourite genres pays off fast.

Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Okanagan Falls needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
