Record stores in Okotoks
The map for Okotoks, AB's record stores is still blank. Our search covered roughly 40 km around Okotoks, looking through OpenStreetMap for record stores, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.
Why record shops matter
A record shop is a town's music memory: the staff who know, the regulars who dig, the new-arrivals bin that's different every week. Algorithms don't do any of that. That's why this page exists even with nothing to list — we'd rather show an honest blank than invent shops in Okotoks.
Okotoks sits about 51° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak digging season: dark evenings, the new-arrivals bin fresh from the autumn collection sell-offs, and nowhere better to spend a Saturday.
Every shop that gets mapped here appears in alphabetical order with what the community map knows: address, hours, website. No sponsored slots, ever.

Digging smarts for Okotoks
No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:
- Ask about want-list services. Good shops will keep an eye out for your grails. It takes patience, but the call when it lands is worth it.
- Note the shop's specialties. Every shop leans somewhere — soul, punk, jazz, classical. Find the lean that matches yours, then dig the others anyway.
- Learn the grading. Mint, near mint, very good — and check whether the grade is visual or play-graded. A visual VG+ can play like an EX.
- Handle records properly in the shop. By the edges, never the grooves. Shops notice, and so do the records.
What earns a listing in Okotoks
Our bar is a walk-in shop selling recorded music on physical formats. New, used, or both — if the bins are the business, it qualifies.
When a qualifying record store gets mapped in Okotoks, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.
This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Okotoks's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.
One edit is all it takes
Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Okotoks needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
