Record stores in Strathmore

Zero mapped record stores in Strathmore, Alberta — for now. We checked OpenStreetMap within about 25 km of Strathmore for record stores. No hits yet, which most often means the places are there but unmapped, not absent. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

New, used, and the difference

New vinyl is the reissues and current pressings — reliable, returnable, full price. Used is the adventure: originals, oddities, and prices set by knowledge and whim. The best shops do both, and the best diggers learn both games. Check a phone price guide before big purchases; it keeps everyone honest.

Strathmore sits about 51° north of the equator, so it gets proper seasons. Winter is peak digging season: dark evenings, the new-arrivals bin fresh from the autumn collection sell-offs, and nowhere better to spend a Saturday.

When Strathmore's shops do get mapped, the used-tagged ones are where the deep digging happens.

Digging smarts for Strathmore

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Handle records properly in the shop. By the edges, never the grooves. Shops notice, and so do the records.
• Sleeves matter for value. Original inner sleeves, inserts, posters — completeness counts. A bare record in a generic sleeve is worth less.
• Learn the grading. Mint, near mint, very good — and check whether the grade is visual or play-graded. A visual VG+ can play like an EX.
• Don't overlook cassettes and CDs. The tape and CD sections are chronically underpriced. The format revival hasn't hit them the same way.

What earns a listing in Strathmore

Our bar is a walk-in shop selling recorded music on physical formats. New, used, or both — if the bins are the business, it qualifies.

When a qualifying record store gets mapped in Strathmore, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Strathmore's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Strathmore needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
