Record stores in Uruapan

The map for Uruapan, Michoacán's record stores is still blank. Our search covered roughly 25 km around Uruapan, looking through OpenStreetMap for record stores, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

Why record shops matter

A record shop is a town's music memory: the staff who know, the regulars who dig, the new-arrivals bin that's different every week. Algorithms don't do any of that. That's why this page exists even with nothing to list — we'd rather show an honest blank than invent shops in Uruapan.

Uruapan sits near the equator. There's no real off-season for digging here, so shops restock on their own rhythms — ask when new used stock hits the floor.

Every shop that gets mapped here appears in alphabetical order with what the community map knows: address, hours, website. No sponsored slots, ever.

Digging smarts for Uruapan

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Check Discogs before big purchases. A quick price check on your phone keeps everyone honest — you and the shop.
• Inspect the seams. Split seams and ring wear tell you how a record lived. Light wear is fine; trashed sleeves drag the value.
• Learn the grading. Mint, near mint, very good — and check whether the grade is visual or play-graded. A visual VG+ can play like an EX.
• Don't skip the 45s. The singles boxes get less traffic and hide great finds. B-sides are the deep cuts of record shopping.

What we're watching for in Uruapan

A real record shop: new vinyl, used vinyl, or both, with bins to dig. Independents and specialists all count. The vinyl wall at the lifestyle chain doesn't.

When a qualifying record store gets mapped in Uruapan, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Uruapan's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Uruapan needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
