Record stores in Ushuaia

The map for Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego's record stores is still blank. Our search covered roughly 25 km around Ushuaia, looking through OpenStreetMap for record stores, and turned up nothing mapped so far. Blank maps are usually a mapping gap rather than a real gap. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

What counts as a record store in Ushuaia

A shop whose main business is selling recorded music on physical formats: new vinyl, used vinyl, or both. That covers independents and the specialists. What doesn't count: the vinyl wall at the lifestyle chain, and online-only sellers. The bar is a real shop with real bins to dig.

Ushuaia sits about 55° south of the equator, so the seasons run flipped. Winter here runs June to August, and it's peak digging season — long evenings made for flipping through bins.

When record shops in Ushuaia get mapped, they appear here with addresses and hours where recorded. Mapped means listed — no paid placement, no favourites.

Digging smarts for Ushuaia

No mapped record shops yet, but the digging skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Don't skip the 45s. The singles boxes get less traffic and hide great finds. B-sides are the deep cuts of record shopping.
• Check for warps in the shop. Hold the record at eye level and sight along it. Warps that look minor at home look obvious in the store.
• Ask about want-list services. Good shops will keep an eye out for your grails. It takes patience, but the call when it lands is worth it.
• Handle records properly in the shop. By the edges, never the grooves. Shops notice, and so do the records.

What we're watching for in Ushuaia

A real record shop: new vinyl, used vinyl, or both, with bins to dig. Independents and specialists all count. The vinyl wall at the lifestyle chain doesn't.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying record store appears in Ushuaia's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

One edit is all it takes

Dayfari's record stores listings are read straight from OpenStreetMap, which means anyone can fix them. A record store in Ushuaia needs exactly one volunteer to add it — tagged shop=music — and the next refresh pulls it onto this page automatically. The most useful details are the record store's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
