Record digging tips for Yogyakarta

Digging in Yogyakarta? A few habits pay off:

• Check for box sets at Violetti. Box sets get broken up or sold whole; either way the per-record price is often excellent.
• Learn to spot reissues. Reissues are cheaper and often sound great. Originals cost more for the history. Know which you're paying for.
• Check Discogs before big purchases. A quick price check on your phone keeps everyone honest — you and the shop.
• Don't skip the 45s. The singles boxes get less traffic and hide great finds. B-sides are the deep cuts of record shopping.
