Tattoo shops in Kandy

Zero mapped tattoo shops in Kandy, Central — for now. We checked OpenStreetMap within about 25 km of Kandy for tattoo shops. No hits yet, which most often means the places are there but unmapped, not absent. This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so a blank today can be a full guide tomorrow.

The consultation is the whole game

Here's what experienced collectors do: they book consultations at two or three studios and treat it like an interview. You're checking the artist's take on your idea, the cleanliness of the stations, how the deposit and pricing work, and whether you actually want to spend hours with this person. Good studios expect this. Only the insecure ones mind.

Kandy sits near the equator. Sun is a year-round factor here, so fresh tattoos need serious sun protection while they heal — and sunscreen becomes a lifelong habit after.

Bring reference images, not just descriptions. Artists work far better from pictures of the style you mean than from words like 'sort of delicate but bold'.

Tattoo smarts for Kandy

No mapped studios yet, but the vetting skills work anywhere. Four worth knowing:

• Match the artist to the style. Fine line, blackwork, traditional, realism — artists specialise. The best studio in town is the wrong one if the style's off.
• Avoid the cheapest shop in town. There's a reason it's the cheapest. With tattoos you get exactly what you pay for, permanently.
• Cover-ups need a specialist. Not every artist does good cover-ups. Look for healed cover-up photos in the portfolio, not just fresh work.
• Book a consultation first. Most good shops offer free consults. You get to meet the artist, talk placement and price, and see how clean the place is.

What earns a listing in Kandy

Our bar is a proper studio — a real address, artists working legally, and a portfolio on display. Home scratchers, kitchen-table setups and anyone offering to tattoo you somewhere improvised don't qualify, no matter how cheap.

When a qualifying tattoo shop gets mapped in Kandy, this page updates on the next refresh with its name, address where available, and whatever hours, phone or website the mappers recorded. Nothing here is paid placement and nothing is sponsored — if it's on the map, it's on the page.

This page refreshes daily from the latest map data, so the moment a qualifying tattoo shop appears in Kandy's OpenStreetMap data, it shows up here — usually within a day of being mapped.

How Kandy gets on the tattoo shops map

Every listing on Dayfari starts as an OpenStreetMap edit by a local volunteer. If you know a tattoo shop in Kandy, adding it to the map (tagged shop=tattoo) is the fastest way to get it listed here — our next refresh picks it up automatically. The most useful details are the tattoo shop's name, its street address, and its opening hours — even a name and a pin on the map is enough to get started.
