Thrift stores in Elmira
Elmira, Ontario has 5 thrift and charity shops on the map right now. All 5 are independent second-hand stores rather than charity shops — Elmira leans commercial when it comes to used goods. Stock turns over fast in all of them, so the shop that had nothing last month might have your thing this week.
This guide covers every thrift store we could verify in and around Elmira (within about 25 km), built from OpenStreetMap's community-maintained data. Names you'll run into include MCC Thrift Shop and Quality Discounts, plus MCC Thrift & Gift — each with its own personality, which is half the fun. If a shop's missing from Elmira's list, it probably just hasn't been mapped yet — the scene is bigger than any single dataset.

Thrifting tips for Elmira
A few things worth knowing before you work through Elmira's thrift stores:
- Go often, buy rarely at MCC Thrift Shop. The regulars' secret: short frequent visits beat rare long ones. Ten minutes twice a week outperforms a monthly expedition.
- Check for matching sets at Quality Discounts. Single plates and glasses are easy; full sets are the prize. Scan the whole shelf — mates hide behind other stock.
- The housewares aisle rewards patience. Cast iron, Pyrex, good knives — they all surface eventually. Check the bottom shelves; heavy things live low.
- Inspect electronics in the store. Plug it in before you pay. Most thrift shops sell electronics as-is, and a cheap record player can be an expensive paperweight.
Good to know
We searched about 25 km around Elmira — that covers the town itself plus the surrounding communities you'd reasonably drive to for a thrifting run. Listings come from OpenStreetMap, mapped by local volunteers, so a brand-new shop in Elmira can take a while to appear. Spotted a closure among the 5, or a shop we missed entirely? The map is the source of truth here — one OpenStreetMap edit corrects it for everyone.
Prices at Elmira's thrift stores are set by each shop and change constantly, so we don't list them. As a rough rule, charity shops are the cheapest, independents sit in the middle, and anything labelled vintage costs more everywhere — Elmira included.
