Expedition Planning and Fuelling with Jen Godbout
We're already wearing sweaters after dark so it's not a stretch to start thinking about winter expeditions. In light of this impending diminishing daylight, Zenith Mountain Guides and SkiUphill are launching a winter Knowledge Series to share some expertise to help you navigate
your winter backcountry ski excursions. We're excited to welcome our first expert, Jen Godbout, to talk about Expedition Planning and Fuelling! Talk Description Multi-day ski expeditions are complicated and your food and logistics can make or break your time in the mountains. Fly in basecamps require different strategies from roving basecaps and from traverses. Too much food weighs you down but not enough leaves you underpowered. Join Jen for an evening discussion on optimizing for expeditions. About Jen Jennifer Godbout (she/her) is known to many by her nickname Jibber. Is a backcountry split board guide, Search and Rescue member, and CAA avalanche educator based out of Whistler, BC. Transitioning from snowboard competitor, to coach, to CSGA guide seemed like a natural progression to avoid any chance of working indoors. Jen enjoys being of service in her community and mentoring the next generation of snow scientists and big mountain riders. Mountain Weather Station Fundraiser All profits from ticket sales will go towards funding the Mountain Weather Station Project and Squamish SAR. -------- Come dial in your logistics game with Jen!

Brackendale Track Club Oceanfront Mile 2026
Fall is for going fast, and we'd like to see some of that speed you've been quietly building. On Friday, October 23, we're running a classic imperial mile (1609 metres, for the metric crowd) from Sp'akw'us Feather Park along the paved bike path to a finish line by Junction Park.
It's flat, it's short, and for a town that usually measures runs in vertical metres, a mile might be the most terrifying distance there is. Come find out. Afterwards, we're heading to House of Lager for suds, buds and snacks. You've earned it, whether you ran a 5-minute mile or a 12-minute one. Schedule5:30–6:15 PM: Check-in6:15–6:30 PM: Final drills and strides6:30 PM: Heat 1 (8:00+)6:45 PM: Heat 2 (7:00–7:59)7:00 PM: Heat 3 (6:00–6:59)7:15 PM: Heat 4 (5:00–5:59)7:30 PM: Heat 5 (sub-5:00) Picking your heat: RSVP by midnight on October 22nd by grabbing the ticket that matches your estimated mile time. Don't overthink it. Take a guess, round it however makes you happy, and we'll put you with people running roughly your pace so there's always someone to chase. Not feeling speedy? No problem. Come cheer on your friends and join us for the social after. Or better yet, volunteer to help time runners. We'd love the help, and it's the best seat in the house. Important: The Oceanfront Mile takes place on an open bike path in the evening. By registering, you acknowledge that you're responsible for your own safety, including appropriate footwear, clothing and a headlamp. Please follow all traffic laws, look out for other path users, and be respectful of our community. This is a community time trial, not a sanctioned race.

Advanced Weather Forecasting with Jason Ross
It’s time to dig a little deeper. On November 5th, we’re bringing in Jason Ross—the meteorologist behind the Zenith Snowpack Newsletter—for an evening of advanced weather forecasting as we roll into ski season.
You know Jason from our snowpack discussion evenings but tonight he will be flying solo to give you a deep dive into weather forecasting and the tools he uses to help build a mountain weather forecast. This is for the folks that are already pouring over weather tools and maps. Maybe you know there’s different models out there but don’t quite know how to choose one or the other. About Jason Jason is a meteorologist based in Squamish, BC. He began his weather career at the age of 12 as a volunteer weather observer for Environment Canada in the Squamish Valley, measuring precipitation and temperature. Jason worked for several years as a surface weather observer for NAV CANADA and Environment Canada, specializing in aviation meteorology, before becoming a meteorologist. Today, he provides custom-tailored forecasts for a private weather company that supports aviation weather services across North America. He has also been working with Zenith Guides for the past few years to provide weather forecasts for their weekly newsletter. When he’s not staring at screens and tracking storms, Jason can be found trail running, skiing, exploring the backcountry, or hanging out with his family Come dive deep with Jason! Help make this board better
This board is ours — neighbours built it and neighbours keep it honest. See something missing? A wrong date, a hall we have not listed, a group planning something in Squamish that should be pinned up? Tell us and we will fix it or add it. Your corrections are quite literally what makes this board trustworthy.
Send a correction or a tip — the same submit page handles tips, fixes, and new events, and we read every one.
Your business belongs on the board
Plenty of good local businesses have no website at all — a Facebook page, maybe, and a sign on the road. A Dayfari Business page gives you a proper home online: your hours, your photos, your story, found by neighbours and visitors alike, for $20/month (add the SEO Boost for $10 if you want it).
Town Board offer: sign up through this board and take 10% off the monthly price — $27/month all-in instead of $30, for as long as you stay a member. The discount is attached to your signup here and applied on our billing side automatically.

Common questions
Is the Squamish Town Board an official town page?
No. A community board by Dayfari — not an official municipal board. We are neighbours putting up a community board for Squamish; for official notices, bylaws, and town services, check the municipality's own website.
How do I get something posted on the Squamish board?
Use the Post an event button — a photo of the poster is enough. We review every post before it appears, and your name is shown on it as the poster once it is up.
How often is the board updated?
We refresh the listings from our local sources regularly, and neighbours' approved posts go up as they come in. The Friday email rounds up whatever is on the board that week.
Why does the board show events from nearby towns?
Small-town life does not stop at the town line. When Squamish's own board is quiet, we show what is on within about 40 km, clearly labelled with the town it is in.
