A francophone mining city of 42,313 that eats on two downtown streets and in the Vieux-Noranda: a Thai institution, a tartare house, a breakfast bistro since 2008, a brewpub since 2009, a bookshop you can drink in and a poutine counter standing since 1969. Twenty-three verified listings, all in Rouyn-Noranda — and the market, honestly out of season.
Photos for Rouyn-Noranda are still on their way. Every listing below is real.
A mining city of 42,313 that eats on Principale and Perreault
Rouyn-Noranda eats downtown, and downtown is two streets. Avenue Principale carries the evening run — a Thai institution, a pizza room and its cocktail-bar sibling, a Mexican grill, a brewpub standing since 2009 and a chocolate bistro — while rue Perreault Est, one block over, holds the mornings and middays: a breakfast bistro open since 2008, a raw-edged pub, an Asian buffet, a fusion counter, the tartare house and a tiny pastry shop named for the alley behind it. Across the tracks in the Vieux-Noranda, avenue Murdoch and avenue Carter hold the hotel dining room, the town's poutine legend, a bookshop you can drink in and a three-nights-a-week brew pub. The 2021 census counted 42,313 people in the Ville de Rouyn-Noranda, and twenty-three listings follow — one market anchor whose season has ended, and twenty-two venue cards, every one seated inside Rouyn-Noranda itself.
The seat rule here is generous inside and strict outside. Rouyn-Noranda is a ville with the powers of an MRC: Rouyn and Noranda are its two historic cores, and Granada, Évain, McWatters, Bellecombe, Cadillac and the other quartiers are this city, not neighbours — a casse-croûte on rue Saguenay is as much Rouyn-Noranda as a bistro on Principale. Outside, the firewall is absolute: Val-d'Or, the other Abitibi mining city down route 117, is a different town with its own tables, and none is borrowed here; Amos and La Sarre are likewise their own. This is a francophone town — 95 percent French mother tongue at the census — so venue names and dish names are printed verbatim in French, exactly as the houses style them. Where sources disagreed on hours, a phone number or even an address, the disagreement is printed in the card rather than smoothed over, and where no hours could be verified, none are printed. No menu price is printed anywhere on this page, only a band: menus move, and a stale figure helps nobody.
The market anchor: a real season, honestly over
Marché public de Rouyn-Noranda — 2026 season ENDED Sep 23; summer return
Stationnement de l'aréna Jacques-Laperrière, 222 av. Dallaire · Wednesdays 12 h 30 – 17 h 30 in season · 2026 season ran Jun 24–Sep 23 and is CLOSED at the time of writing
On Wednesday afternoons in summer, the parking lot of the aréna Jacques-Laperrière becomes the town's pantry: the public market published in agreement by the Goûtez AT operator surface, Tourisme Rouyn-Noranda and the provincial market association — three surfaces, one season. But the honest fact comes first: the published 2026 season ran every Wednesday from June 24 to September 23, 12 h 30 to 17 h 30 — fourteen Wednesdays — and that last Wednesday has passed. The market is not trading now. Do not plan a Wednesday around it until the operator publishes the next season; expect a summer return and check in spring. One discipline note: producer and kiosk counts vary across the market's own listings, so no count is printed here. One namesake guard, too: the Marché du Fermier on rue Gamble Ouest is a year-round farm store with daily hours — a shop, not this market — and the two are never conflated on this page. Goûtez AT's Marché public page.
Avenue Principale: the evening run
Horizon Thaï — the Thai room everyone names first
108 av. Principale · +1 819-762-4060 · Hours conflict — see flag · Modéré
Ask in Rouyn-Noranda where to eat and this is the name that comes back: a Thai and Asian-fusion dining room on Principale with 75 seats, a private salon and a summer terrace, cooking the canon with its own twists — a breaded Général Tao the regulars order on autopilot, a curry-coco soup, pad thaï in chicken, shrimp and tofu forms, peanut chicken, ginger-and-basil stir-fries and a poutine Général Tao for the town it lives in. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free plates are published parts of the offer, not afterthoughts. The hours are this card's flag, printed not merged: its place record and the menu directories give weekday lunches from 11 h 30 (to 20 h, Thursday and Friday to 21 h) with Saturday and Sunday evenings only, from 16 h 30 — while the Yellow Pages and Canpages run longer days, 11 h to 21 h or 22 h. The evenings agree everywhere; a weekday lunch plan deserves the phone call. Horizon Thaï's site.
Pizzé — pizza, pasta and burgers, all house-made
122 av. Principale · +1 819-797-4461 · Lun., mer., jeu. et dim. 11 h 30 – 21 h, mar. 11 h 30 – 22 h, ven. 11 h 30 – 23 h, sam. 11 h 30 – 21 h per its place record · Modéré
The Principale pizza room, run by the same local group as the cocktail bar next door: a house that bills its offer in four words — pizza, pastas, burgers, all made in-house — and fills the gaps with grilled octopus, creamy ravioli, mozzarella sticks and a Calabrese pizza for the heat-tolerant. Diners praise the wine list beside the pies, which is not how most pizza counters get talked about, and the room does the downtown double duty of family dinner early and lingering table late. Friday is the long night, to 23 h on its record; the rest of the week closes at 21 h or 22 h. Pizzé's site.
Le Polonais Cocktail Bar — three evenings a week, next door to Pizzé
124 av. Principale · +1 819-797-4461 (the shared G5 group line, as its own record prints it) · Jeu. 16 h – 23 h, ven. 16 h – 1 h, sam. 16 h – 23 h or 0 h — see flag · Modéré
Pizzé's sibling and the strip's nightcap: a cocktail bar that styles itself a reinvention of the art of drinking, open three evenings only, Thursday to Saturday from 16 h. The kitchen side is real — gourmet tapas and appetizers, grilled calamari named by its own crowd, a Bloody Caesar the house is known for, and a serious non-alcoholic cocktail list for the driver. It shares management and a phone line with Pizzé at 122 — that shared number is printed as its own surfaces print it, not as a copy error. One flag: its place record runs Saturday to midnight where the restaurant directories close it at 23 h; the three-day shape is certain, Saturday's last hour is not. Le Polonais' site.
Habaneros Grill Mexicain — the build-your-own Mexican counter
76 av. Principale · +1 819-762-8226 · Tous les jours 11 h – 20 h per its place record and the directories in agreement · Économique
The fast end of Principale, done properly: a Québec Mexican-grill chain's Rouyn-Noranda counter — that chain status stated plainly — where the format is assembly: burritos large and small, bowls, three-taco plates, salads and nachos built to order from fresh salsas and grilled fillings, with churros and guacamole at the edges and vegetarian builds as a first-class option. Seven days, 11 h to 20 h, on every surface reached — the plainest week on this page. It is the downtown lunch that never requires a plan. Habaneros' site.
Le Trèfle Noir Brasserie Artisanale — the brewpub standing since 2009
145 av. Principale · +1 819-762-6611 · Lun.–jeu. 15 h – 1 h, ven.–sam. 15 h – 3 h, dim. fermé per the house's own pub page (see flag) · Modéré
Rouyn-Noranda's microbrewery pub, born on Canada Day 2009 in a forty-seat room that kept hitting its limit: twelve of the house's own beers on tap, drawn from a recipe book the brewery counts in the dozens, five regulars in bottle and can, and what the house calls the largest whisky offer in Rouyn-Noranda, with Québec gins beside it. The food is pub-honest — nachos, jerky, local plates — and the room doubles as one of the town's culture stages: music, comedy, screenings and exhibitions rotate through. One flag, printed not buried: a place record derived from its social page marks the pub permanently closed, while the house's own site still publishes the pub week above and the tourism office's gourmet tour still walks visitors here. The brewing itself has moved south — the house lists its brasserie in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu — which may be what the closed record is seeing. The pub is carded on its own site's word, and a first visit deserves the phone call. Le Trèfle Noir's pub page.
Le Gisement Bistro-Chocolaterie — chocolate first, bistro second
143 av. Principale · +1 819-762-8882 · Hours conflict — see flag · Modéré
A chocolate shop that grew a bistro, or the other way round: house-made chocolates in serious variety, hot chocolates built from its own chocolate and spiced several ways, and a small bistro menu — soup, salad, sandwiches — whose végé-pâté the tourism office's gourmet tour singles out by name. It sits at 143 Principale on the current tourism, family-directory and local directory surfaces. Two flags ride with it. The address: an older travel listing puts Le Gisement at 57 av. Principale — the 143 address above is the current one on the 2026-updated surfaces, and the old form is flagged, not followed. The hours: a current local directory opens it Thursday to Saturday only, 9 h to 22 h, where older listings run it daily and late; the chocolate counter is certain, the week's shape is not — check before a Monday plan. Le Gisement's directory fiche.
Rue Perreault Est: mornings, middays and the tartare house
Le Saint-Exupéry — the breakfast bistro since 2008
35 rue Perreault E · +1 819-797-4867 · Mer.–dim. 8 h – 13 h 30 per the house's own statement (see flag) · Économique
Downtown's morning institution, open since spring 2008 and known to its regulars as Le St-Ex: a bistro-matin built on eggs Benedict in several forms — smoked salmon, spinach, braised beef — grilled cheeses, lattés, and its own roasted Saint-Exupéry potatoes, with menus that run to crêpes, paninis, burgers and a children's list, and a stated habit of cooking with Abitibi-Témiscamingue products. Five mornings a week only, Wednesday to Sunday, and the room fills — the house itself suggests reserving. One small flag: the house's own statement closes the kitchen at 13 h 30, where a menu directory describes it open to 14 h; the house's hour is printed above. Le Saint-Exupéry's site.
Deuxparquatre, Pub Brut — raw wood, 24 taps and fried pickles
48 rue Perreault E · +1 819-797-2119 · Hours as its place record prints them — see flag · Modéré
The name is the décor: a pub built, in its own words, out of two-by-fours and retro accents, unpretentious on purpose. Behind the bar, more than two dozen beers on tap and a deep shelf of scotch, whisky, rum and gin; from the kitchen, the gastro-pub canon done with small indecent details — burgers, pulled pork, poutine, beef tartare, and the fried pickles and over-the-top desserts its reviewers keep naming. A regional food writer gave it the trip's decadent first place, which is the right register: this is not fine dining and does not want to be. The hours carry the flag: its place record prints Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday 16 h – 22 h, Thursday and Friday 11 h 30 – 23 h and Saturday 16 h – 22 h — and Monday does not appear in the record at all. Absence is printed as absence, not assumed as closure; a Monday plan belongs on the phone. Deuxparquatre's site.
Restaurant Hao Van — the Perreault Asian buffet, new administration
59 rue Perreault E · +1 819-764-9861 · Mar.–ven. 11 h – 14 h et 16 h – 20 h, sam. 16 h – 20 h, dim. 16 h – 20 h per its place record; lun. absent from the record · Modéré
The downtown Asian buffet under new administration — its own page says so, and asks for patience while the team settles: almond chicken, curry chicken, deluxe fried rice, Cantonese noodles and fried noodles across a split lunch-and-dinner week, with cash-only delivery and a reduced buffet price for the 65-and-over stated on its own surface (a discount, not a figure, is all that is repeated here). The shape to plan around is the split: weekday lunches Tuesday to Friday, evenings Tuesday to Sunday, and no Monday service anywhere in its record. Hao Van's page.
Azy Fusion Express — ramen and teriyaki, Tuesday to Saturday
77 rue Perreault E · +1 873-379-7779 per its place record · Mar.–sam. 11 h – 20 h per its place record · Économique
The Perreault fusion counter, carded at record strength: its own billing promises Asia within reach — fresh dishes, served fast — across a ramen, char siu, teriyaki-skewer and stir-fry register. Five days a week, Tuesday to Saturday, 11 h to 20 h on its record, which is the whole verified story: no house menu at listing grade was reached in this pass, so no dish beyond its record's own list is claimed for it. Its published phone carries the 873 overlay rather than the town's usual 819 — printed as found. Azy Fusion Express' site.
Restaurant La Muse Gueule — the tartare house at 140 Perreault
140 rue Perreault E · +1 819-797-9686 · Hours conflict — see flag · Modéré
The Perreault dining room with the cult following: a bistro whose own current menu leads with tartares in both registers — salmon three ways (Japanese-style with sesame and wafu; maple, bacon and pecan; cheddar and lime) and beef three ways (prosciutto and confit onion; candied bacon, portobello and truffle; a Texan with spicy mayo and cheese curds) — then thin-crust nine-inch pizzas served with fries, pastas and a vegetarian pâté its reviewers single out. Menu figures exist on the house's menu; per this page's discipline, none is printed — bands only, because a price caught mid-move is how a stale figure gets published. The hours are a genuine conflict, printed not merged: the Yellow Pages runs it daily 11 h – 23 h, where a menu directory gives Monday to Thursday 11 h – 21 h and Friday to Sunday from 10 h. The evenings are certain; the shape of the week is a phone question. La Muse's site.
Les Pâtissières de Ruelle — the alley pastry shop
17B rue Perreault E · +1 819-301-3905 · Lun. 11 h – 16 h, mar.–sam. 11 h – 17 h per its place record · Modéré
Two pastry cooks — the house names them, Claudia Fortin and Valériane Dugon — mixing, in their own framing, flavours, the eccentric and the real: celebration cakes, cupcakes the town's own testimonials rave about, hot chocolate and coffee, in a vintage-décor room a few doors from the Saint-Exupéry. The tourism office puts the shop on its gourmet tour and locals put it in their treasures list, which is the same endorsement in two registers. Daytime only, and closed Sundays on its record — the Saturday visit is the one to plan. No house week beyond its record was verified, so the record week is what is printed.
Vieux-Noranda: Murdoch, Carter and the poutine legend
Le Cellier — the Noranda hotel's wine-bar dining room
126 av. Murdoch · +1 819-762-2341 · Hours conflict — see flag · Modéré
The dining room of Le Noranda Hôtel & Spa, and much more than a hotel restaurant: a resto-bar à vin working a bistro register — French, Asian and wood-fire grills on its own description — with fried calamari, lamb shank, salmon and steak tartares, a pear and goat-cheese salad and a blueberry tart named by its own crowd, plus the breakfasts that make it the Vieux-Noranda morning address for half the town's associations. Two flags. The address: current surfaces seat it at 126 av. Murdoch, while older directories carry a 41, 6e Rue address for the same house — the hotel's own current address governs. The hours: its place record splits the week into breakfast and dinner services (weekdays from 6 h 30, dinners to 22 h), while the tourism office's listing runs the same days continuously — the split form is the safer plan, and both are printed here rather than merged. Le Cellier's page at Le Noranda.
Chez Morasse — the poutine the town defends, since 1969
110, 9e Rue · +1 819-762-6666 · Dim.–mer. 10 h – 0 h, jeu.–sam. 10 h – 4 h per Tourisme Rouyn-Noranda and its place record in agreement (see flag) · Modéré
The corner of 9e Rue and Murdoch is where Rouyn-Noranda's night ends: a casse-croûte standing since 1969 whose sign claims the best poutine in the world and whose town, on the travel-guide record, agrees loudly enough to repeat the claim. The register is creation poutines in three sizes — a Général Tao poutine and a hangover poutine lead its delivery menu — beside pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, a Lebanese menu line, gelato and sorbet, all of it made on site on the house's account. Expect the line the guides warn about at bar-close and at mealtimes; the town has been queueing here for over fifty years. The flag is the house's own slogan: it bills itself open 24 hours a day, every day — but the week published by the tourism office and its own place record runs 10 h to midnight, stretching to 4 h Thursday to Saturday. The published week is printed above; 24-hour it is not. Chez Morasse's site.
230 av. Carter · +1 819-880-0665 · Mar. 11 h – 18 h, mer.–ven. 11 h – 21 h, sam. 11 h – 18 h per its place record; dim.–lun. fermé · Modéré
The Vieux-Noranda room with no real equivalent on this page: an independent bookshop that is also a café and a bar — coffee or a glass of wine among the shelves, vegetarian snacks, a children's section with room to sprawl, and a cultural programme of launches and readings that makes it the neighbourhood's living room. Regional authors sit on its shelves beside the crime novels and comics, on the tourism office's account. It is carded as a café because that is one of its three trades; go for the books and stay for the glass, or the other way round. Livresse's page.
Broue Pub La Perdrix — eight taps, three nights a week
205 av. Carter · +1 819-917-6475 · Jeu.–sam. 16 h – 23 h per its place record and the directories in agreement (see flag) · Modéré
The Vieux-Noranda brew pub, a short walk from Livresse: eight draft lines pouring Québec microbreweries — Le Prospecteur from down the 117 and, exclusively here on its own account, Alma's Lion bleu — house food, sports on the screens and a room its hosts describe as warm and unbuttoned. Three evenings only, Thursday to Saturday, which concentrates the crowd pleasantly. One address flag: its place record and directories seat it at 205 av. Carter, while a 2023 press release placed an event at 250, rue Carter for the same pub — the record address is printed above and the variant is flagged, not followed. La Perdrix's page.
Le Bistro Petit Lutin — breakfast-to-supper on Horne, with Tuk-Tuk nights
52 av. Horne · +1 819-797-2511 · Lun.–mer. 6 h – 15 h, jeu.–ven. 6 h – 20 h per its place record · Modéré
The downtown-edge diner-bistro: open at 6 h, a daily menu Monday to Friday, and a register that runs from a lumberjack breakfast through a Québec poutine to beef bourguignon. Its second life is the interesting one: the tourism office's own testimonials carry a citizen's praise for the bistro's soirées Tuk-Tuk — Thai evenings, Wednesday to Friday, cooked by a Madame Lee the testimonial calls renowned, with a Vietnamese poutine in the repertoire. That layer is printed as what it is — a testimonial on the tourism surface, not a house-published schedule — and the Thursday and Friday evenings in its record's week are consistent with it. Ask when you book. Petit Lutin's page.
Larivière, Dallaire, Rideau and Mercier: the car-side run
Pub Goût Gueule — the gastro-pub on Larivière
471 av. Larivière · +1 819-797-6000 · Mar.–mer. 11 h 30 – 20 h, jeu.–ven. 11 h 30 – 22 h, sam. 11 h 30 – 21 h per its place record · Modéré
Larivière's pub gastronomique: burgers the house calls the best in town — its words, printed as its claim — beside pizzas, ribs, tartare and house fries, with a chef's Italian-leaning creation menu that turns over every three weeks on the tourism office's account, following the products and the seasons. A summer terrace, shows in the room, and Abitibi microbrews on the beer list complete the picture. Tuesday to Saturday, lunches and dinners; Sunday and Monday are dark on its record. Goût Gueule's site.
Moulin Noir Steakhouse — the Dallaire occasion room
45 av. Dallaire · +1 819-797-8778 · Hours conflict — see flag · Cher
The town's steakhouse, in a modern urban room a block from the market lot: a tomahawk built for sharing, a New York strip, maple-glazed scallops its menu summaries call unanimous, giant shrimp Provençal, smoked-salmon pappardelle, a lamb shank, and a cocktail list with its own signatures — a steak-spiced Bloody Caesar and a Sangria 51. This is Rouyn-Noranda's anniversary address; the tourism office's testimonials literally say so. The hours are a real conflict and are printed as one: its place record runs lunches and long evenings Tuesday to Sunday, while the menu directories give split lunch-and-dinner services Tuesday to Friday, Saturday dinner only, and Sunday and Monday closed. Nobody should plan a Sunday or a Monday here on either surface's word alone — the phone settles it. Moulin Noir's site.
Noranda Pizzeria — pizza at the Rideau entrance, bar El Gringo attached
630 boul. Rideau · +1 819-762-1888 (see flag) · Kitchen mar.–sam. 8 h – 20 h per its place record and the directories in agreement; the bar runs later on the house's account · Modéré
The Noranda-side pizzeria at the town's Rideau entrance, with a menu refreshed in September 2026 on the ordering directory's own stamp: the house special and the Numéro Uno, smoked-meat poutine, and a full diner register behind the pizzas — lasagna, spaghetti, brochettes, ribs, burgers and brunch plates. The house's own words set the rhythm: the kitchen closes at 20 h, and the bar — El Gringo, under the same roof — stays open to midnight. Two flags. The days: older directories run it seven days from 6 h; its current record and the ordering surfaces agree on Tuesday to Saturday, which is what is printed. The phone: the Yellow Pages carries a different principal number (873-771-4640) than the 819-762-1888 its record, ordering page and travel listings agree on — the agreed number is printed above. Noranda Pizzeria's ordering page.
Resto La Cuivrée — the Mercier cantine, at Chez Linda's old address
157 av. Mercier · +1 819-762-8111 · Lun. 11 h – 19 h, mer. 11 h – 19 h, jeu.–dim. 11 h – 20 h per its directory week — Tuesday absent, see flag · Économique
The copper-named cantine on Mercier, carded at directory strength: its own directory billing promises the town's best poutine and its best fries — its words, printed as its claim — with a dining room and takeout, open every day on its own account. The address carries a succession worth stating plainly: 157 av. Mercier and this same phone number belonged to the Friterie Chez Linda, whose record now reads permanently closed; La Cuivrée is the current name at the door, and the two are printed as a succession, never merged into one listing. One flag: its directory week lists Monday and Wednesday to Sunday and Tuesday does not appear — against its own 'open every day' billing. The conflict is printed; a Tuesday plan deserves the call.
Restaurant La Fringale — the Saguenay casse-croûte, in town by seat
3176 rue Saguenay · +1 819-797-3672 · Mar.–sam. et dim. 8 h – 20 h per its place record; lun. absent from the record · Économique
The north-end diner, up rue Saguenay in the city's own territory — in town by seat, whatever the map's first impression says: submarines, club sandwiches, guédilles, hot dogs and fries across an 8 h-to-20 h day, six days on its record. It is carded at record strength — no house menu at listing grade was reached — and its flag is the same shape as several on this page: Monday does not appear in its record, and absence is printed as absence rather than assumed as closure. Namesake guard: La Fringale is also a cantine name elsewhere in Québec — Beloeil and Laval houses share it — and those are different towns' restaurants, never this one.
Named, not carded — and why:Olive et Basil (164A rue Perreault E), the Mediterranean bistro locals praised for twenty years, is held: its place record reads permanently closed, one menu directory repeats that it may be definitively closed, and yet other directories still publish a full week for it — a house in that state is named, not carded, until a surface settles it; a successor name, Olivares & Co, already surfaces at the same address. Bistro Le Cachottier (143 av. Principale) is held on the same evidence shape — place record permanently closed against directories that still list it — and its address is a three-name door: the same 143 Principale also carries Le Gisement (carded above on current tourism surfaces) and a Renard wine counter in current listings; the names are never merged. Café Restaurant Marrakech and Planète Poutine both surface at 53 av. Principale — two names, one door, held rather than merged. Poutinerie du Cuivre is marked permanently closed and carries two addresses besides (84 rue Gamble O and 100 rue du Terminus O) — excluded until a reopening verifies. Held for a listing-grade pass: Bistro Jezz (117, 8e Rue), café-bar L'Abstracto (144 rue Perreault E), Le resto 7-9-7 (151 rue Principale), Superbol Abitibi (101 av. Principale, the bowling counter), Kayzen comptoir asiat and the Sushi Shop counter (139 av. Principale), Balthazar Café (92 rue Perreault E), Le Marché du Fermier (169 rue Gamble O — a year-round farm store, not a restaurant and not the public market) and Patate Pierrot (540 av. Larivière). The seated chains — St-Hubert, La Cage, Boston Pizza, Toujours Mikes, Valentine, Allô mon Coco, Topla! and the fast-food rows along Larivière and Rideau — are Rouyn-Noranda-seated and busy, and are named so nobody thinks them missed; national and provincial chains are not this page's subject.
Community meals, stated plainly: Rouyn-Noranda's community-meal record stands at interim — it has not been finalized, and it currently counts zero meals. The lead candidate is the REssourcerie Bernard-Hamel and the served meals of its Espace solidaire: a host cook's posting proves a working kitchen transforming recovered and donated food into meals for the Espace's users — but no surface reached publishes a meal cadence (days and times), no meal price (free, donation or figure), and no statement that the meals are open to everyone; the regional repertoire's open-to-all phrase attaches to its collective kitchens, which never count as served meals. All three limbs are therefore unproven, and the programme is not presented here as a community meal — and it is not carded as a restaurant or café either, because the only facts its own surfaces prove are the programme itself. One more discipline note: the slices disagree on its seat — the repertoire behind the interim record places the organisme at 101, 11e Rue, while another slice's record carries a same-name food-bank record at 255, 9e Rue. The conflict is printed, never merged, and no address is asserted for the programme until a host surface settles it. Around it, the interim exclusions are recorded so they are never upgraded by mistake: its banque alimentaire is food distribution, not a meal; the Centre d'action bénévole's popote roulante is a delivered, eligibility-checked service; and its Souper de Noël is a one-off. One host-published statement of the Espace solidaire meal service — days, price term and openness together — is the recorded reopen trigger; finalization is still to come.
Common questions
What food is Rouyn-Noranda, Québec known for?
Poutine, defended locally since 1969 at Chez Morasse (110, 9e Rue), whose sign claims the best poutine in the world — and for a downtown dining pair of streets: avenue Principale (Horizon Thaï, Pizzé, Le Trèfle Noir) and rue Perreault Est (Le Saint-Exupéry, La Muse Gueule, Deuxparquatre).
Is the Marché public de Rouyn-Noranda open now?
Not outside its season. The market in the aréna Jacques-Laperrière parking lot (222 av. Dallaire) ran Wednesdays 12 h 30 – 17 h 30 from June 24 to September 23, 2026, and that season has ended. Expect a summer return when Goûtez AT and Tourisme Rouyn-Noranda publish the next season — check in spring.
Where can I eat in the Vieux-Noranda?
Avenue Murdoch and avenue Carter hold the old Noranda core's tables: Le Cellier (126 av. Murdoch, the Le Noranda hotel's dining room), Chez Morasse (110, 9e Rue, at Murdoch), Bar-Librairie Livresse (230 av. Carter), Broue Pub La Perdrix (205 av. Carter) and Le Bistro Petit Lutin (52 av. Horne).
Which Rouyn-Noranda restaurants are open late?
Chez Morasse runs to 4 h Thursday to Saturday on its published week (10 h to midnight the other days) — despite its own 24-hour slogan, which its published week does not support. Le Trèfle Noir's house week runs Friday and Saturday to 3 h, and Le Polonais pours Friday to 1 h.
Is there a community supper in Rouyn-Noranda?
None counts as verified — the interim record is zero, and finalization is still to come. The lead candidate, the REssourcerie Bernard-Hamel's Espace solidaire meals, proves a working kitchen for its users, but no source reached publishes its meal days, a price, or a statement that the meals are open to everyone; its slices even disagree on the organisme's address. It is held, not counted, until the host publishes the meal service plainly.
