Two main streets do the feeding: Goderich Street in Port Elgin — the corner pub, the French-influenced bistro, two Indian kitchens, sushi and the coffee house — and High Street in Southampton, with the Walker House, the brewpub in the old hotel, fish and chips and an all-day breakfast room. Twenty verified addresses, all seated in Saugeen Shores, plus both weekly markets.
Photos for Saugeen Shores are still on their way. Every listing below is real.
Two main streets, one town: eating in Saugeen Shores
Saugeen Shores eats in two places at once. In Port Elgin, the tables line Goderich Street — the historic corner pub, the French-influenced bistro, two Indian kitchens, sushi and Thai, a coffee house with a wall of tea — with a second run of houses on Green Street and Bricker Street behind it. Ten minutes north, Southampton eats along High Street and Albert Street South: the Walker House, the brewpub in the old hotel, fish and chips, an all-day breakfast room, Thai, Vietnamese and a smoked-BBQ cantina. Both communities are inside the one Town of Saugeen Shores, and every card on this page is seated in one of them. Twenty cards follow.
The seat test is printed, not hidden. Kincardine, Wiarton, Walkerton, Owen Sound and Sauble Beach are separate municipalities; their tables surface on every Saugeen Shores search and are refused at the end of this page. Where two sources disagree on an address or an hour, the disagreement is printed on the card rather than smoothed over. No dish price appears anywhere on this page — only a price band.
The anchors: two weekly markets, one in each community (provisional)
Port Elgin — provisional. The Port Elgin Farmers' & Artisan Market sets up downtown at Green and Bricker Streets on Wednesdays, 9 am–2 pm, in season — local growers, bakers and makers, run by the Downtown Port Elgin BIA. Its published 2025 season ran into early September; the current season's dates are still being confirmed for this guide, so check before a special trip.
Southampton — provisional. The Marine Heritage Market Square at 26 Albert Street South carries a Friday, 9 am–2 pm market on its record. One caution, printed: a separate indoor market-square listing in Southampton was reported permanently closed in 2023 — the two are never merged here, and the Friday market's current-season form is owed a confirmation. The Marine Heritage Society site.

Named, not carded — and the refusals, printed
Named, not carded, for want of a live house surface at card grade, or because the house is a bakery or a shop first: Elk and Finch Coffee Pub (54 Albert St S, Southampton — a coffee pub with handmade desserts and specialty beer and wine on directory records), Armen's Cafe (224 High St, Southampton — Indian-fusion café, lunch hours on directory records, chicken biryani and a curried chicken quesadilla named), Offshore Bakery (233 High St, Southampton — a bakery, remembered here, not carded as a restaurant), The Patio Port Elgin (588 Goderich St — a British shop and café, meat pies and sausage rolls, on a social surface only), Duffy's Port Elgin & Port Pizza (276 Mill St, Port Elgin — a distinct house from Southampton's Duffy's, never merged), and the declared chains at their Port Elgin and Southampton addresses — Harvey's, Pizzaville, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Subway — present in town, listed by name, and not dressed up as discoveries. Two farm gates feed both communities and are named as farm shops, not restaurants: Smiths' Apples and Farm Market (470 The River Rd, Port Elgin) and Hi-Berry Farm (5639 Highway 21, between the two communities, in season). A closed house is never presented as an open table: Southampton's indoor Market Square was reported permanently closed in 2023 and appears nowhere above as a place to eat.
Refusals, printed so the sort is visible. Every table seated in Kincardine, Wiarton, Walkerton, Owen Sound or Sauble Beach is refused here however a regional page labels it — those are separate municipalities with their own guides, and the Kincardine and Owen Sound tables in particular surface on every Saugeen Shores search. A Saugeen Shores postal address alone does not seat a business here; the business's own surface settles its seat.
Two disciplines, stated plainly. First, community meals: this guide's audit of Saugeen Shores' community meals is still in progress, and nothing from that layer is carded here — no meal is ever carded as a restaurant. Second, the markets: both market sections above are provisional — Port Elgin Wednesdays at Green and Bricker, Southampton Fridays on Albert Street South — until each market's settled current-season form is confirmed for this guide.
