Hiking & walking in Rouyn-Noranda: the ring, the hills, the park
An everyday lake ring, a real trail network above the cores, and one honest walking fixture in October.
Hiking and walking in Rouyn-Noranda: a lake ring, a hill network and a botanical park
Rouyn-Noranda walks on three registers: the urban lake ring for every day, the collines Kekeko for real trail, and the quartier ground -- botanical park, secteur paths, winter trails -- for the resident layer. Rouyn-Noranda is a city of 42,313 people in Abitibi-Temiscamingue, northwestern Quebec -- a single city that also holds MRC-equivalent powers (a ville-MRC), governed from the Hotel de ville, 100 rue Taschereau Est, at 48.2374, -79.0171 in the America/Toronto time zone. Its two historic cores, Rouyn and Noranda, fused in 1986, and its rural secteurs -- Evain, Granada, McWatters, Cadillac and the rest -- are sectors of this city, not neighbouring towns. It is a francophone city (French is the mother tongue of about 95 percent of residents), so venue and event names are printed in French, exactly as their organizers publish them. And 2026 is its centenary year -- the 100e de Rouyn-Noranda runs through the whole calendar
The walking layer, piece by piece
The lac Osisko ring
The ring around lac Osisko and the presqu'ile shore is the town's everyday trail: flat, central, and shared with the Fete d'hiver site at 1, avenue Thompson in winter (costumed tube slide, skating and a snow maze on the festival's own description). It is the walk every other page in this guide keeps returning to, because the town does.
The collines Kekeko
The Kekeko hills carry the town's named trail network -- walking in summer, and the Kekeko winter trails in the snow season on the Ville's own recreation surfaces. The district itself is named for them. Trail detail lives on the Ville's surfaces; this guide prints the network at that strength and derives no route table it has not read.
Parc botanique A fleur d'eau
The botanical park is the slow walk: planted ground on the town's green circuit, the register for a short day, a grandparent walk or the hour between a museum and a show.
La Grande Marche
La Grande Marche sits on the Ville's own calendar under Sports, in a 2.5/5 km format per the tourism fiche's documentation. It is a WALK -- this town's research verified no timed fun run or 5K seated in town, and this guide does not promote the march into one. It is the autumn walking fixture, staged as itself.
The park day, labelled as itself
For the big-trail day, the region's anchor is Aiguebelle: lakes, escarpments and suspended walkways in a provincial park reached from Rouyn-Noranda through its Mont-Brun secteur. It is carried here as a trip under its own name and rules -- the day-trips pages hold the full framing -- never as a town trail.

Common questions
Where can you walk in Rouyn-Noranda?
The lac Osisko ring and presqu'ile for the everyday walk, the collines Kekeko trail network for real trail (with winter trails in the snow season), and the Parc botanique A fleur d'eau for the gentle register. La Grande Marche (October 18, 2026, 2.5/5 km formats) is the autumn participation walk -- documented as a walk; no timed 5K seated in town was verified.
Is the Parc national d'Aiguebelle a Rouyn-Noranda trail?
No -- it is a Sepaq provincial park reached from the town's Mont-Brun secteur, carried in this guide as a regional trip under its own name. The town's own trail ground is the Osisko ring and the Kekeko network.
