Live Music
Live music in Wasaga Beach: the beach is the venue
Eighty-plus performances a season, most of them outdoors and most of them free: Wasaga programs music the way other towns program fireworks -- as the point of the evening.
The season of music
the town's event calendar is a summer calendar, and in October it is read as the season that was -- the Town publishes each year's lineup in the spring, and the 2026 season is the shape to plan around. The Town counted more than 80 live music performances across the 2026 season. The season opened in June with Trail Tunes, the Arts and Eats Festival (June 13-14) and the Cruisers Fun Run (June 19-20). Canada Day, July 1, centred on Nancy Island with historic programming and the town's first-ever Canada Day Symphony Fireworks over the bay. July brought the Not-So-Pro Volleyball Tournament (July 11-12), the Foam Fest 5K (July 18) and the new Wasaga BeachLife Festival and Midway (July 23-26). August carried Rockin' the River, the free pirate-themed Awaken the Isle on Nancy Island, and the Wasaga Beach Triathlon late in the month. The season's anchor is Memories of Summer on Labour Day weekend -- named one of Ontario's Top 100 festivals and events, drawing more than 12,000 people, with general admission always free -- expanded in 2026 to three nights of beachfront concerts ending in fireworks. The fall closes the year: the Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival in mid-to-late September and the Mayor's Charity RAM Rodeo and Hootenanny Fall Festival in early October. Weekly summer programming ran alongside: Summer Sets on Fridays and Saturdays, Music in the Park on Tuesday evenings, Movies Under the Stars on Wednesday evenings, and the farmers market on Tuesdays. None of this is presented as running now: it is October, the stages are down, and next year's dates live on the Town's calendar when it publishes them.
The weekly rhythm, in season
The Town's weekly summer series is the working musician's map of the town: Music in the Park on Tuesday evenings, Summer Sets on Fridays and Saturdays from July into early September, and the Trail Tunes one-day trail-and-music event in June. These are Town-programmed series with rotating acts; the lineups publish on the Town's surfaces each season, and this guide does not carry last season's names forward as this season's bill. In October, all of it is done for the year -- the live-music town right now is the arena's event calendar, the Blues Festival just past, and the pubs' own nights, which belong to the houses that book them.
Where the music plays
The beachfront stage
Three nights of concerts on the beach in 2026, ending in fireworks -- the biggest stage the town builds, and free.
The festival stages
The Blues Festival's two stages each September: the town's most serious listening weekend, ticketed, with an international blues lineup published by the festival.
The park bandstand circuit
Tuesday evenings and summer weekends in the town's parks and public spaces -- the bring-a-lawn-chair circuit that carries the season between festivals.
The BeachLife experiment
The new piece of the town's music story is the Wasaga BeachLife Festival and Midway, launched in 2026 for four days in late July: tribute acts anchoring the nights -- The Carpet Frogs, billed as the official touring band of The Guess Who, and Jukebox Heroes playing Foreigner's catalogue -- with a midway under the music. It is the town consciously rebuilding the midway-and-music beachfront its older visitors remember. Whether it becomes an institution is next season's question; its first edition is the fact this guide prints.
Where the Blues Festival came from
The Blues Festival's origin explains its ground: local accounts trace it to about 2010, when the developer behind the Stonebridge by the Bay community wanted to show off the new neighbourhood and landed on a fall music festival as the way to do it. The festival stayed when the subdivision filled in, outgrowing its marketing origin into an international, award-winning weekend with two stages at Stonebridge Town Centre -- the town's newer, inland centre hosting its most established music event, steps from the beach that hosts everything else. That arc, from sales showcase to institution, is a very Wasaga story, and the festival's own surfaces carry its history and lineups in full.
What this guide does not promise
No bar band, open mic or pub residency is listed here, because none was verified on a surface this pass could stand behind, and pub bills change weekly. The verified music of Wasaga Beach is the Town's and the festivals' -- and on that evidence alone, it is one of the strongest small-town music programs in Ontario summers.
