Things to do in Saint-Eustache, built from what the town's own venues publish: a working 1762 flour mill and the church where 1837 ended, a cabaret in a former church with a dated show calendar, a 16-screen independent cinema with a live hall inside it, a year-round flea market, one library with a full programme, and a festival year anchored by the Fête nationale and the Festival de la galette. Everything below is seated in Saint-Eustache. The absences are addressed at the end — no curling, no fair, no shelter — because a list that hides its gaps is not a guide.
Photos for Saint-Eustache are still on their way. Every listing below is real.
Walk the Vieux-Saint-Eustache
The heritage quarter is the town's signature half-day, and it is genuinely walkable: four anchors on two streets above the Rivière des Mille Îles. Start at the Moulin Légaré, 232 rue Saint-Eustache — built in 1762, the oldest water-powered flour mill still operating in North America, with guided visits and the buckwheat galette it grinds for. Cross to the Église de Saint-Eustache, 123 rue Saint-Louis, the 1780–1783 church where the Battle of Saint-Eustache was fought on December 14, 1837 — a national historic site whose façade still carries the marks. The Espace muséal du manoir Globensky, 235 rue Saint-Eustache, holds the permanent exhibition on the 1837 rebellion, and the maison Chénier-Sauvé, 83 rue Chénier, completes the Patrimoine culturel Vieux-Saint-Eustache circuit. In season, the body's guided tours tie the quarter together; the gardens behind the manoir are where the town's big fixtures land.
A night out: cabaret, screen or stage
Three offers, two addresses — and the distinctions matter, because listings blur them.
A Ville-run cabaret in a former Presbyterian church: humour, chanson, theatre and youth shows on the venue's own dated calendar, sold via Tuxedo Billet. Ahead in October 2026: Cathy Gauthier (Fri Oct 9, $38.75), Virginie Fortin (Sat Oct 10, $38.75), The Big O String Band (Fri Oct 16, $39) and Mathieu Cyr (Sat Oct 24, $32.50).
Cinéma St-Eustache — the screen
305 av. Mathers · 16 screens · independent · live showtimes surface
The town's own cinema: a 16-screen independent multiplex with D-BOX, VIP and large-format rooms, a first-run programme and a ciné-répertoire series, rolling weekly on cinemasteustache.ca — check there for this week's titles and times.
Le Zénith Promutuel Assurance — the stage
305 av. Mathers · 712 seats · live only · inside the cinema complex
Inside the same Mathers complex, a 712-seat Italian-style live hall staging 200-plus shows a year — humour, music, theatre and ciné-conférences. A live venue, not a cinema screen: its programme is its own, on the venue's own surface.
The drive-in and the flea market at 455 av. Mathers
The seasonal Ciné-Parc Saint-Eustache is the town's second film venue — a drive-in presenting double programmes in season, with annual Halloween evenings whose 2026 programme had not been announced when this guide was built. It shares its site with the Marché aux puces Saint-Eustache, the year-round flea market the operator dates to 1977: Fridays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Between the two, the Mathers site gives Saint-Eustache a weekend layer that runs in every season — the dependable counterpart to the street market's summer-only run.
Everyday Saint-Eustache: library, water, ice
The Bibliothèque Guy-Bélisle, 12 chemin de la Grande-Côte, is a single branch with a full programme: Heure du conte and Bébé-comptines for the youngest (Sat Oct 10, 2026, 10 a.m.), reading clubs, Biblio-Jeux, conferences (Tue Oct 13, 2 p.m.) and evening causeries (Thu Oct 15, 7 p.m., with Victoria Charlton) — all dated on the Ville's events calendar, the surface to check for the current month. The Mon bus à lire carries the collection out to the neighbourhoods.
For water and ice, the Arthur-Sauvé cluster carries the town: the Complexe aquatique, 230 boul. Arthur-Sauvé, with its eight-lane competition basin and recreational basin, the Complexe Walter-Buswell arénas, 220 boul. Arthur-Sauvé, and the Aréna Florian-Guindon, where the Vikings de Saint-Eustache play M18 AAA hockey — the league's 50th season, the club's 20th. In summer the Bisons de Saint-Eustache play junior elite baseball in the LBJEQ. The leagues publish the fixtures; the Ville publishes free swim and skate times on its own surfaces — those are the schedules to trust, not a copied list.
The festival spine, and what is not on this list
Plan a year around Saint-Eustache and it hangs on the Vieux: Plaisirs d'hiver in January and February, the Fête nationale in the manoir gardens on June 23–24, the market's grandes tablées in July and September, and the Festival de la galette each September around the Moulin Légaré — all recorded with their real 2026 dates on the events page. The Marché public du Vieux-Saint-Eustache belongs on that spine in season — Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — with its tense stated plainly: the 2026 season ended September 26, and it returns next summer.
Absent because they do not exist here, not by oversight: there is no curling in Saint-Eustache — no club, no sheet, no municipal offering — and no agricultural fair (the Laurentides' exposition is Lachute's; the galette festival is heritage, not a fair). There is no animal shelter seated in town — the SPCA Lanaudière Basses-Laurentides serves the city from Saint-Calixte. And the Autodrome Saint-Eustache is closed history (1965–2019), never a current outing. The same discipline keeps Deux-Montagnes' REM stations, Boisbriand's and Mirabel's multiplexes and Sainte-Thérèse's cégep off this list: near Saint-Eustache is not in Saint-Eustache.
Common questions
What is there to do in Saint-Eustache this fall?
La petite église's dated cabaret shows, Cinéma St-Eustache screenings and the ciné-répertoire series, the Marché aux puces every weekend, the Bibliothèque Guy-Bélisle's programmes, and the Vieux-Saint-Eustache heritage circuit — the Moulin Légaré, the 1837 church and the manoir Globensky. The street-market season has ended until next summer.
Is there a movie theatre in Saint-Eustache?
Yes — two film venues: Cinéma St-Eustache at 305 av. Mathers, a 16-screen independent with a weekly rolling programme, and the seasonal Ciné-Parc drive-in at 455 av. Mathers. Le Zénith, inside the cinema complex, is a live stage, not a screen.
Can I go curling in Saint-Eustache?
No. No curling club is seated in Saint-Eustache and the town's arenas carry no curling sheets. The town's ice culture is hockey — the Vikings de Saint-Eustache at the Aréna Florian-Guindon.
When is the street market?
Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on rue Saint-Eustache — in season. The verified 2026 season ran July 4 to September 26, 2026 and has ended; the market returns next summer.
What is the Festival de la galette?
Patrimoine culturel Vieux-Saint-Eustache's heritage festival around the Moulin Légaré — traditional music, period encampments, mill visits and the buckwheat galette. The 41st edition ran September 19 and 20, 2026. It is not an agricultural fair; Saint-Eustache has none.
