Bracebridge festivals: a street turned into a tube run, an art show, a fall fair

Bracebridge's calendar has three peaks of three different kinds -- a winter street party in January, one of Ontario's oldest outdoor art shows in July, and a proper agricultural fall fair in September -- with a bandshell park carrying the weeks between. Here is each form in its season.

Three peaks, three seasons, one park between them

The winter peak is the Fire and Ice Festival, downtown's winter carnival on the last Saturday of January: Manitoba Street is trucked full of snow and turned into a downtown tube run, Memorial Park carries a skating trail through its Winter Village, and the 'fire' side answers with fire artists, fire pits and fireworks over the Silver Bridge to close. The 2026 edition ran Saturday, January 31, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at $10 for ages six and up on the season's listings (small children free), drawing crowds the Cottage Life account puts at some 15,000 in an average year. The festival's own site is fireandicebracebridge.com.

The summer peak is older and quieter: the Muskoka Arts & Crafts Summer Show, the juried outdoor art festival the association has run since 1962, filling Annie Williams Park on the river for three July days with more than 200 Canadian artisans, live music and food, before more than 10,000 visitors on the District tourism account. The 64th show ran July 17-19, 2026 (tickets $8 in the association's app, $10 cash at the gate, children 12 and under free on Discover Muskoka's listing); the association publishes the next edition as July 16-18, 2027 on muskokaartsandcrafts.com.

The January peak

Fire and Ice Festival, downtown + Memorial Park

One Saturday, the last in January, 9 to 6 on the 2026 listings: the Manitoba Street tube run (about 200 feet on the season's accounts, line closing to new riders at 5), the Memorial Park skating trail, lumberjack shows, ice sculpture, axe throwing, a pancake breakfast to start and fireworks at the Silver Bridge at 6 to close. Free parking downtown and shuttle buses through the day on the listings.

The July peak

Muskoka Arts & Crafts Summer Show, Annie Williams Park

Three days in mid-July at 50 Santa's Village Road: 200-plus juried artisans chosen from 400-plus applications on the association's account, live music, food and a beverage tent, free on-site parking. It is Muskoka Arts & Crafts' largest annual fundraiser and one of Ontario's longest-running outdoor art shows.

The September peak

Bracebridge Fall Fair & Horse Show, J.D. Lang Park

The Agricultural Society's fair at the fairgrounds in J.D. Lang Park (Fraserburg Road): livestock and horse shows, homecraft and exhibit halls, midway forms and fair food across a mid-September weekend -- the 2026 fair ran Friday September 18 to Sunday September 20 on the fair's own prize book. The Society's surfaces are at bracebridgefair.com.

The park between the peaks

Memorial Park carries the ordinary weeks at a festival pitch: the Saturday farmers' market through the season, the Bandshell Concert Series the visitor guide lists among the park's fixtures, and the Winter Village that Fire and Ice builds around each January. A park that hosts a market, a concert series and a winter village in one year is the town's festival infrastructure, and this guide treats it as such -- forms printed, each bill read with its presenter.

What this guide does not do with dates

Festival dates are printed only where a primary surface publishes them: the fair's own prize book for September 2026, the association's own page for the July shows, the season's listings for Fire and Ice 2026. Every other event in this guide is printed as a form in its season, with its date read at its organizer -- never projected, never carried over from a past year's listing.
