Indoor activities

Indoor Bracebridge: a pool campus, a new community centre, two stages and a cinema

Bracebridge's bad-weather bench is deeper than most towns its size: a full aquatic-and-climbing campus, a brand-new arena-fieldhouse-library under one roof, a theatre, a cinema and two gallery rooms. The rainy day here is a scheduling problem, not a shortage.

The bad-weather bench

the Bracebridge Sportsplex, 110 Clearbrook Trail, is the town's water and training house, sharing its campus with the secondary school and the Caisse Theatre: an aquatic centre with leisure pools and a slide on visitor accounts, a large gymnastics facility, an indoor climbing wall, fitness studios and a walking/running track. Lane swims, lessons and programmes run on the Town's recreation grid, read there for the week.

the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre, 56 Salmon Avenue, is the town's new civic living room: a generational facility that opened to the public in August 2024 and was completed in 2025, gathering an NHL-size arena of 1,019 seats, the Proline Fieldhouse, the Muskoka Leon's Auditorium, a walking track and the Bracebridge Public Library under one roof. It replaced the old Bracebridge Memorial Arena as the town's hockey home -- Muskoka Bears junior hockey exhibitions were among its first games -- and its recreation and library programmes are the town's indoor calendar. Schedules live with the Town and the library, never copied here.

The gallery rooms

Muskoka Arts & Crafts, downtown

The Chapel Gallery at 63 Manitoba Street and MAC on Main carry the association's rotating exhibitions through the year -- the quiet indoor hour between the falls and lunch, on the visitor guide's account. Exhibition bills live with the association.

The stage and screen

Caisse Theatre + Norwood Cinema 3

the stages in brief: the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre (307 seats, Clearbrook Trail, Arts Council) for live performance, and the Norwood Cinema 3 (106 Manitoba Street, three screens) for film.

The taproom hour

Muskoka Brewery, 1964 Muskoka Beach Road

Muskoka Brewery in brief: Bracebridge's brewery since 1996, 1964 Muskoka Beach Road -- taproom and dog-friendly patio (11 to 6 daily on the tourism listing), Cream Ale and Mad Tom IPA, tours on request.

Swim, skate or climb -- the drop-in discipline

Both recreation campuses run drop-in grids that change by season and by school calendar, and both are read the same way: the Town's recreation surfaces carry the Sportsplex and community-centre schedules, the arena's public skates and the fieldhouse's open hours. This guide prints the buildings and what is inside them, because those are settled; the hours grids live with the Town, because they move.

What rain does not cancel

The town itself: Manitoba Street under an umbrella is still the heritage main street, the falls run harder in the rain, and Woodchester's grounds are a wet-weather walk between showers. The river cruise is weather-called by its operator; Santa's Village posts its rain terms with the park.
