Events in Grimsby

Every dated listing on this page is a staged record — dated on its operator's own surface, weekday-checked, and staged by the research slices behind this guide. Six are still to come in fall 2026. Below them sit the year's staged past records, then a clearly-labelled layer of documented-but-not-staged items, then the festivals this guide refuses to date because their organisers have not. Nothing here is derived from a pattern.

Photos for Grimsby are still on their way. Every listing below is real.

Coming up — the staged six

Saturday, October 17, 2026 — Moonlight Market & Movie, 6:00–9:00 p.m., Coronation Park. The Town's Halloween evening from its own fall page: Halloween vendors, free trick-or-treating and an outdoor film at dusk. Friday, October 23, 2026 — Grimsby Author Series: Amanda Peters and Tara Gereaux, Grimsby Public Library, 18 Carnegie Lane (the library's fall season sells as a three-event package, $75 on its own announcement; no per-event price is asserted). Sunday, November 1, 2026 — Grimsby Glows Pumpkin Parade, 5:30–7:30 p.m. (accessible start 4:45 p.m.), Coronation Park — Rotary Club of Grimsby with the Town; the Town's page counts 300+ community-carved pumpkins, a secondary guide says 500+; the counts conflict, the Town's governs, and neither is merged into the title.

Wednesday, November 11, 2026 — Remembrance Day Ceremony, 10:45 a.m., the cenotaph at the Grimsby Museum, 6 Murray Street — free, from the Town's own fall-events page. Friday, November 27, 2026 — Grimsby Author Series: Mary Berg and Hazel Mae, the library again. Saturday, December 5, 2026 — the 69th Annual Grimsby Santa Claus Parade, 5:15 p.m., theme “Christmas Night of Lights”, eastbound on Livingston Avenue and Main Street West from Blessed Trinity Secondary School to Ontario Street. That is the complete staged future: if a date is not here, it was not staged — the next section explains the near-misses rather than promoting them.

Staged and past — the 2026 canon

Two staged records anchor the year behind us. The Wayzgoose Book Arts Fair ran Saturday, April 25, 2026 (9 a.m.–5 p.m., free admission) at the Public Art Gallery — the gallery's fair since 1979, dated on the Town's and the gallery's own surfaces. And the Grimsby Farmers' Market's staged 2026 series is 19 Thursday occurrences, June 4 to October 8, 2026, 3:00–7:00 p.m. — the first three downtown on Main Street East (Christie to Ontario), then the Peach King Centre parking lot behind Town Hall, per the season's own move notice. Its final market day was Thursday, October 8, 2026 — the day this guide was built; the series is recorded as the verified 2026 season with closed-season framing, and the operator is the only source for whether and where it returns in 2027.

Documented, not staged — read at this grade

Real, dated and documented in the slices' records, but not staged as feed records — listed here so the distinction stays visible. From the Grimsby Curling Club's own events list: Learn to Curl October 18, a Halloween Bonspiel October 31 and Curl For Kids Sake November 7–8, 2026 (full list on the sports page; feed staging from that surface is the closer's pass). From the Town's events surface: the Grimsby Museum's photography-exhibition closing (Thursday, October 29, 5:00–7:00 p.m., by donation) and Fenians talk (Saturday, November 7, 1:00–2:00 p.m., by donation, pre-registration required) — the museum layer's records. From the gallery's own classes page: a Woodland Pumpkin Pals workshop (October 14, ages 4–14, $10), PD Day Art Club (October 26 and November 27, ages 5–8, $70), a free Queer Art Collective drop-in (Mondays including October 19 and November 23) and $5 Coffee & Crafting Wednesdays (including October 21, November 18, December 9); the gallery's Gordon Rose Memorial Art Auction closes bidding November 6. From Eventbrite's own Grimsby listings: Fantasy Portraits at Grimsby Books, Friday, October 23, 7–9 p.m. ($40 individual / $60 couples on the ticketing record). From the Garden Club's own newsletter: “Gardening from a Hammock”, Thursday, October 29, and a wreaths session November 28, at the Peach King Centre. From league-adjacent records: a Peach Kings home date Friday, October 9 against Glanbrook — documented, not staged; the league schedule governs. And Jerry's Peachbud 10K/5K/1K ran Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from Central French Immersion Public School — the town's run, past, on its organiser's own surface.

Not dated here — because the organisers have not dated them

Fantasy of Trees (Rotary, Grimsby Museum): a 25-plus-year free-admission tradition whose 2026 edition was unpublished at build. One organiser page carries a “Thursday, November 27 to Sunday, December 7” window — those weekdays match 2025, not 2026, and this guide will not re-date them. (Two edition numbers also circulate — a 15th-annual story page and a 25th-edition district record — and neither is printed as settled.) Grimsby Festival of Art: the town's one-day September juried show since 1967 — no organiser-published 2026 date was found, and no September Saturday is derived. Happening at the Forty / Happening in Grimsby: a summer festival under two name variants in secondary sources — variants unmerged, no 2026 date found. Canada Day: the Town's production is verified for 2026 (Wednesday, July 1, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., free) and is recorded as a dateless annual template — even its seat conflicts across records (a regional roundup seats it at the Grimsby Museum; another slice's record places it at Coronation Park), so the seat is left to the Town's next publication. Grimsby RibFest is not here at all: the Town's own tourism strategy notes it happens outside Grimsby. And there are no film listings, because there is no cinema (see the city page).

Common questions

What is the next event in Grimsby?

On staged records: the Moonlight Market & Movie, Saturday, October 17, 2026, 6:00–9:00 p.m. at Coronation Park — then the Author Series on October 23 and Grimsby Glows on November 1.

When is the Grimsby Santa Claus Parade in 2026?

Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 5:15 p.m. — the 69th annual parade, eastbound on Livingston Ave and Main St W.

Why isn't the Fantasy of Trees listed with dates?

Its 2026 dates were not published on the organiser surfaces reached; the window circulating online weekday-matches the 2025 edition. We do not re-date last year's edition into this year.

Is the farmers' market still on?

The staged 2026 series ended Thursday, October 8, 2026 (19 Thursday occurrences from June 4). The operator's site governs any 2027 season.
