Events in Saugeen Shores — fall 2026

Saugeen Shores' dated file for fall 2026 turns on one big weekend that has just passed and a quieter Thanksgiving weekend ahead. Port Elgin Pumpkinfest filled downtown Port Elgin on October 3 and 4, in what its own program billed as its 41st year. What remains is smaller and more local: a Rotary pie pickup in Southampton, a country show in Port Elgin on Thanksgiving Saturday, and a women's weekend in Southampton the week after. Every weekday below was checked against the 2026 calendar, and anything this file couldn't establish at a publishable grade is named as missing instead of invented.

Photos for Saugeen Shores are still on their way. Every listing below is real.

Already in the books: Pumpkinfest, October 2-4

The town's biggest weekend of the year ran Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, 2026. It opened Friday evening with the festival's Pub-Kin Crawl, with a free shuttle running between participating venues in both Port Elgin and Southampton from 6:00 p.m. to midnight per the festival's own site, and with a first-ever Pumpkin Bowl high-school football game under the lights at the Saugeen District Senior School field, kickoff 7:00 p.m. The festival itself filled downtown Port Elgin on Saturday, October 3 (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and Sunday, October 4 (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.): the giant vegetable weigh-offs that give the festival its name, a classic car show that takes over the downtown streets, a midway, crafts and food. It is past for 2026. Next year's dates are the festival's to publish first, on pumpkinfest.org, and this file will carry them when they are official. No admission price is printed here, for this year or next.

Saturday, October 10: Rotary pie pickup in Southampton

The most Thanksgiving thing on this file is a pie. The Rotary Club of Port Elgin's annual Thanksgiving pie sale, pumpkin and apple this year, holds its pickup at Rotary Hall, 39 Grey Street South, Southampton, on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with a drive-through setup, per the club's own ticket listing. The listing's order-deadline line carries a weekday that doesn't match the 2026 calendar, so this file prints the pickup times, which are stated plainly twice, and sends anyone who hasn't ordered to the club's listing to confirm whether orders are still being taken. Proceeds support local youth and community projects, per the club.

Saturday, October 10: Elyse Saunders at the Queen's

On Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 8:00 p.m., the Cowboy Up Tour brings Elyse Saunders to the Queen's Bar and Grill in Port Elgin, per the tour's Eventbrite listing for Saugeen Shores. That's the Thanksgiving weekend's one evening show at a publishable grade. Tickets and any change of time belong to the listing and the venue; this file prints no price. If live country in a small Lakeside bar room is your Thanksgiving Saturday, that is the room.

Next up: Ladies at the Lake, October 16-17, Southampton

One week later, Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17, 2026, Southampton hosts Ladies at the Lake, its women's weekend of shopping, dining and in-store events, with the Mrs. Roper romp and dance as its signature piece, per the town's Explore the Shores events listing, whose dates the event's own listing agrees with. The full program belongs to the organizers and firms up close to the weekend; check the listing before travelling. Also ahead, at a wider grade: MacGregor Point's Witches in the Woods, the park's Halloween-themed campers' weekend, which Ontario Parks places on the weekend following Thanksgiving Monday. The park's own surface governs its exact dates and how day visitors fit in, and this file prints neither. And on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, the town's Remembrance Day service is listed at the Cenotaph in Port Elgin at 11:00 a.m. on the same events listing.

Monday, October 19: Walk for Wenjack in Southampton

On Monday, October 19, 2026, Bruce County's Truth and Reconciliation programming comes to Southampton in two parts, staged in the crew's records from the County's own programme page. At 1:00 p.m., the Walk for Wenjack gathers at the Fairy Lake Pavilion in Southampton, a county-organised walk seated in this town. That evening at 7:00 p.m., the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre (33 Victoria Street North, Southampton) screens The Secret Path as part of the same programme. Both are Bruce County records, attributed to the County here exactly as they are staged; registration and any change belong to the County's programme page.

The county calendar: library and museum dates

Three dated entries come from Bruce County's own surfaces, staged by this crew from the operators' calendars, and they are attributed to the County. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., the Bruce County Public Library's Port Elgin branch (708 Goderich Street) runs Kids Create, its children's creative programme. On Wednesday, October 14, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., the Southampton branch (215 High Street) hosts Needle Arts for adults. And on Thursday, October 29, 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton holds Spirits and Wine, a 19+ Halloween-season evening with a psychic medium in its theatre, per the organiser's own listing. Registration and any change belong to the library and the museum; this file prints no prices.

What this file does not contain, and why

Four honest absences. No First Nations events are listed: Saugeen First Nation No. 29 and the Chippewas of Nawash are separate jurisdictions, and their markets, gatherings and events are theirs to publish, never imported here as town events. No weekly arena, library or museum program schedule is frozen: skating at The Plex and the Coliseum, Bruce County Public Library branch programs and Bruce County Museum programming all run on their operators' own calendars. No market dates are printed for October: the Wednesday farmers' and artisans' market in downtown Port Elgin is a warm-season market, and no October date for it was established at operator grade this pass, so none is claimed. Nothing from the neighbours is imported: Kincardine, Paisley, Sauble Beach and the other Bruce County towns hold their own fall events, and they belong to those towns' guides.

The standing offer between dates

Between the dated entries, October in Saugeen Shores still fills easily: both main streets in fall colour, the rail trail between the centres, MacGregor Point's trails and shoreline, the county museum on a wet afternoon, and a west-facing beach at the end of every day for the sunset. All of it is detailed, at its grade, on the Things to Do page.
