Day trips from Saint-Eustache

The heritage quarter and the river first, the orchards next, the city last -- each destination under its own name.

Day trips from Saint-Eustache: the Vieux first, then the river, the orchards and the city run

Saint-Eustache's trips sort the way its river does. Saint-Eustache is a city of 45,276 people (Statistics Canada 2021 Census, the Ville de Saint-Eustache census subdivision) in the MRC de Deux-Montagnes, Laurentides, Quebec, on the north shore of the Riviere des Mille Iles, at 45.5575, -73.8889 in the America/Toronto time zone. It governs itself from the Mairie, 145 rue Saint-Louis, and it is a predominantly francophone city -- venue and event names are printed in French, exactly as their organizers publish them. The town itself fills days without a highway: a heritage quarter where a working flour mill, a museum manor, an 1837 battle church and a cabaret stand within a few hundred metres, a 16-screen independent cinema, a drive-in, arenas and an aquatic complex. Beyond the boundary sit the honest outside trips -- Oka, Laval, Montreal -- each its own place, labelled outside town every time.

Saint-Eustache's own ground: the trips that stay in town

The heritage day

In town -- the Vieux-Saint-Eustache

Start where the town started: the Vieux-Saint-Eustache heritage sector, where the town's defining places stand within a few hundred metres of each other on and around rue Saint-Eustache: the Moulin Legare (232 rue Saint-Eustache, built 1762, the oldest water-powered flour mill never to have stopped operating in North America, a national historic site), the Espace museal du manoir Globensky (235 rue Saint-Eustache), the maison Chenier-Sauve (83 rue Chénier), the eglise de Saint-Eustache (123 rue Saint-Louis -- built 1780-1783, the seat of the Battle of Saint-Eustache of December 14, 1837, in the Lower Canada Rebellion) and La petite eglise Cabaret Spectacle (271 rue Saint-Eustache). The quarter is a full day on foot -- mill, manor, church, cabaret -- and in season it carries the market and the festivals.

The river day

In town -- the Riviere des Mille Iles shore

The town fronts the Riviere des Mille Iles: Parc Riviere-Nord (706 rue Primeau, the Demi-Marathon des Guépards' ground -- the town's own run ran Sunday, May 3, 2026), Parc Nature Saint-Eustache and the promenade Paul-Sauve behind the church. River excursions and canoe programming on the Mille Iles are day-trip content -- never cruises; this river town has no cruise port and no page in this guide pretends otherwise.

The town-culture day

In town -- the cabaret, the cinema and the rinks

The culture cluster stacks along two streets: La petite eglise Cabaret Spectacle, 271 rue Saint-Eustache -- the Centre d'art La petite eglise, a Ville-administered cabaret venue in a former church in the Vieux sector, selling through Tuxedo Billet, with a dense dated programme of humour, music and theatre Cinema St-Eustache, 305 avenue Mathers -- a 16-screen independent multiplex, described on its own complex's surface as Quebec's most-attended independent cinema, with a live showtimes surface on the operator's own site and a cine-repertoire repertory series. Saint-Eustache HAS a cinema; its programme rolls weekly, so check the operator for the current week's titles and times Add Le Zenith Promutuel Assurance, 305 avenue Mathers -- a 712-seat live performance hall INSIDE the cinema complex. It is a live hall, not a cinema screen: sharing the Mathers address with Cinema St-Eustache is a co-location, not a merger, and the two programmes are carried separately wherever they could be confused, and the Vikings at Florian-Guindon for a hockey night -- pattern only, fixtures from the league.

The outside places, as themselves -- labelled outside town

Oka and the Parc national d'Oka

West, OUTSIDE Saint-Eustache -- its own place, presented as itself

Oka is the lake-and-orchard trip: the Parc national d'Oka on Lac des Deux Montagnes, the abbey and cheese country, and the ferry-side shore. The park is Oka's, in Oka -- reached from Saint-Eustache as a trip, never re-badged as the town's own park. Kanesatake, beside it, is a separate Mohawk community, a neighbour in its own right.

Laval

South across the river, OUTSIDE Saint-Eustache -- its own city, presented as itself

Laval is the big-suburb day across the Riviere des Mille Iles: its malls, its Cosmodome and its own arena and theatre layer are Laval's. The regional Parc de la Riviere-des-Mille-Iles is a Laval-seated regional body spanning several municipalities -- its programming is not Saint-Eustache's, and this guide never imports it.

Montreal

South, OUTSIDE Saint-Eustache -- the city day and the gateway run

Montreal is the big-city day: downtown, the old port and the wider region's cultural calendar. It is also where the air gateway sits: Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) is the gateway airport for Saint-Eustache. Saint-Eustache is a residential Laurentides city and a YUL arrival base, not a layover product at any duration, and no page in this guide sells it as one. Montreal-Mirabel (YMX) has had NO passenger service since October 31, 2004 -- it is cargo and industrial only, and it is never an option, however close it sits

Deux-Montagnes

West, OUTSIDE Saint-Eustache -- its own city, presented as itself

Deux-Montagnes matters to Saint-Eustache travellers for one honest reason: the REM stations. Deux-Montagnes station (the terminus) and Grand-Moulin station both stand in the Ville de Deux-Montagnes -- OUTSIDE Saint-Eustache -- reached by exo bus from the in-town Terminus Saint-Eustache. They are rail access for the town, never stations in it.

Getting away and getting back -- the gateway and bus truth

Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) is the gateway airport for Saint-Eustache. Saint-Eustache is a residential Laurentides city and a YUL arrival base, not a layover product at any duration, and no page in this guide sells it as one. Montreal-Mirabel (YMX) has had NO passenger service since October 31, 2004 -- it is cargo and industrial only, and it is never an option, however close it sits And the ground truth is just as plain: getting to and from Saint-Eustache, stated plainly: there is no rail station in Saint-Eustache. The town's transit hub is the Terminus Saint-Eustache, 144 boulevard Arthur-Sauve (exo, ARTM zone C), carrying exo Laurentides and local Saint-Eustache bus lines. The nearest rail service is the REM's Deux-Montagnes branch -- and its two nearest stations, Deux-Montagnes and Grand-Moulin, stand in DEUX-MONTAGNES, a neighbouring municipality OUTSIDE Saint-Eustache, reached by exo bus (line 90) from the Terminus. They are labelled outside town wherever they appear. The old exo commuter train that once served those stations closed December 31, 2020; the current rail product is the REM, in service since November 17, 2025. Almost every trip on this page is easiest by car; inside town, the exo bus network out of the Terminus is the transit layer, and the Vieux quarter rewards walking more than any timetable.

Outside town: Oka and its national park, Laval across the river, or Montreal for the city day -- all labelled outside Saint-Eustache, as themselves.

Is there an airport or a cruise port in Saint-Eustache?

No. Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) is the gateway airport for Saint-Eustache; Montreal-Mirabel (YMX) has had no passenger service since 2004. Saint-Eustache sits on the Riviere des Mille Iles, an inland river with no cruise port -- river excursions are day trips, never cruises, and there is no cruises page for this town.

Is there a train or REM station in Saint-Eustache?

No rail station sits in Saint-Eustache. The town's hub is the Terminus Saint-Eustache (exo buses, zone C). The nearest rail is the REM at Deux-Montagnes and Grand-Moulin stations -- both in Deux-Montagnes, outside town, reached by exo bus line 90.
