Free things to do
Free things to do in Boucherville: the layer the Ville itself calls free
Free concerts, a free Halloween and a free library -- and one famous park that is not free, flagged in the open.
Free things to do in Boucherville: the Ville publishes its free layer as free
Boucherville's free layer is unusually well documented, because the Ville itself bills its flagship programme as gratuites and its summer series as free. This page prints that layer in full -- and flags the one famous neighbour that is NOT free, in the open, rather than letting it slip into a free list.
The free layer, piece by piece
The free concerts
Des Airs d'ete Desjardins, the Ville's free outdoor summer concert series on the place de l'eglise Sainte-Famille: five Wednesdays at 19h30 -- July 8, 15, 22 and 29 and August 5, 2026. The evenings the Ville's own pages name are Pierre Lapointe (July 8), Les Soeurs Boulay with Elliot Maginot (July 15), the Colocs tribute (July 22) and Daniel Boucher (August 5); the July 29 headliner was not captured in this research, so it is named nowhere in this guide And the Fete itself: the Fete nationale du Quebec in Boucherville, June 23-24, 2026, produced by the Ville itself and published as free: June 23 from 18h on the place de l'eglise Sainte-Famille with street animation, the patriotic ceremony, Vox Pop singing Quebecois hits and a circus show; June 24 with a traditional mass and guided visits in the morning, family activities at the parc de la Riviere-aux-Pins from midday, coureur-des-bois animation at the Maison La Fontaine in the afternoon, and the 22h fireworks over the Centre Francine-Gadbois and parc Vincent-D'Indy sector
The free Halloween
the Ville's own Halloween programme, published as activites gratuites: on Saturday, October 24, 2026 the Sentier frissons familles through the Boise de l'Ocarina opens at 17h and the Marche public Lionel-Daunais site turns pirate-themed from 18h to 21h; on Halloween night itself, Saturday, October 31, the Maison des jeunes runs its maison hantee from 18h30 to 21h. A decorated-homes interactive map completes the Ville's programme The Ville's decorated-homes interactive map is part of the same free programme.
The free standing layer
the Bibliotheque Montarville-Boucher-De La Bruere, 501 chemin du Lac -- the Ville's OWN single library branch, with its catalogue at bibliotheque.boucherville.ca. Its Rendez-vous citoyens framework seats citizen-led programming at the library, and the Ville's own calendar carries its Bibliotheque category: story times, the Club de lecture, conferences and ateliers through the season The Club de lecture is free, the Vieux-Boucherville and the riverfront cost nothing to walk, and the Rendez-vous champetres (July 12, 2026) ran entree libre. The Ville's ANIMAPARCS summer animation (June 29 to August 13, 2026) is free as well.
The paid neighbour, flagged in the open -- never in the free list
the Parc national des Iles-de-Boucherville (Sepaq), 55 ile Sainte-Marguerite, Boucherville -- a PROVINCIAL park seated in Boucherville's own river territory, on the five islands facing the town shore. It is not a Ville facility, and entry is PAID: Sepaq park fees apply, stated plainly wherever this guide names it. Inside it sit trails, picnic ground and the Golf des Iles. The only road approach crosses ile Charron, which is Longueuil territory -- access geography never moves the park's Boucherville seat It is the town's headline nature asset and it belongs in a Boucherville guide -- in the day-trips, hiking and date pages, with its price stated. It will never appear in this guide's free copy as a free thing, because it is not one. The same discipline runs the other way: the camps, the aquatic sessions and the club sports run on fees through the Ville and its accredited organisms, and no page here calls them free.
