Hiking and walking in Boucherville: islands, shore parks and old streets
A paid-entry island park, a free river-park chain and a 1667 walking circuit -- each at its own terms.
Hiking and walking in Boucherville: island trails, river parks and an old-town circuit
Boucherville walks in three registers: the island trails of a provincial park, the Ville's river parks strung along the shore, and the heritage streets of the Vieux. Each register is printed at its own terms -- starting with the park's, because its terms include a fee.
The three registers
The island trails
the Parc national des Iles-de-Boucherville (Sepaq), 55 ile Sainte-Marguerite, Boucherville -- a PROVINCIAL park seated in Boucherville's own river territory, on the five islands facing the town shore. It is not a Ville facility, and entry is PAID: Sepaq park fees apply, stated plainly wherever this guide names it. Inside it sit trails, picnic ground and the Golf des Iles. The only road approach crosses ile Charron, which is Longueuil territory -- access geography never moves the park's Boucherville seat The five islands' trails, meadows and shore paths are the town's headline walking -- a paid-entry provincial park day, planned as one.
The river parks
the Ville's own green layer: the parc de la Riviere-aux-Pins, the parc historique De La Broquerie in the Vieux, the parc Pierre-Boucher, the parc Vincent-d'Indy beside the Francine-Gadbois centre, the Boise de l'Ocarina and the parc Pierre-Laporte, 490 chemin du Lac, at the chemin du Lac facility cluster with the Complexe aquatique Laurie-Eve-Cormier, 490 chemin du Lac The shore parks chain into a mainland walking day: the Riviere-aux-Pins grounds where the Fete's June 24 family programme plays, the historic De La Broquerie around the Maison La Fontaine, and the Ocarina wood's paths.
The heritage circuit
The old town is a walk in itself: the church square, the heritage house, the cafe-gallery and the parish streets of a town founded in 1667. The Societe d'histoire des Iles-Percees' guided visits are the narrated version -- check the Ville's surfaces for their dates.
Seasons on foot
Summer walks end at the water: the islands, the shore and a shuttle ride home. Fall is the Ocarina wood and the Vieux in colour, with the Halloween trail night on October 24. Winter walking is the shore and the old town between indoor stops -- the aquatic complex and the halls are the warm anchors, and no winter trail programme is claimed beyond what the Ville and Sepaq publish on their own surfaces.
