Petawawa festivals: a fall Ramble, a county food day
Petawawa's calendar peaks in the fall, when the whole town becomes the Ramble -- pumpkin people at the Heritage Village, a game night after dark -- and the county's food festival fills the Civic Centre. Here is each form in its season, with no future date derived.
The forms of the festival, first
The signature event is the Petawawa Ramble, the Town's fall festival built with local businesses and the Heritage Society: in the accounts reached, a mid-October weekend (October 16-18 in 2026) when businesses across town raise Pumpkin People displays and the Heritage Village at 176 Civic Centre Road opens for self-guided tours among the displays. Its after-dark twin is Werewolves in the Village, an adults-only game night at the Village -- gates at 6 p.m., the game at 7 p.m., dinner included on the ticket surface reached, teams of four or more, tickets sold separately through the toy shop that animates it. the Heritage Village in brief: pioneer village at 176 Civic Centre Road, run by the Heritage Society -- settlement-era buildings, German founding-family archives and First Nations teachings, tours and artisan markets; hours and admission with the operator.
The rest of the year has its published forms: Taste of the Valley, Renfrew County's food festival, hosted at the Petawawa Civic Centre in September on the accounts reached; the Town's Farm to Trail walking market along the Algonquin Trail; the Container Market's Friday nights and Saturdays in season; and the vendor shows, dances and concerts the Civic Centre publishes for its hall and its ice-out arena floor. Each edition's dates live with its organizer -- this guide prints forms and seasons, never a projected date.
The forms of the outing
The fall peak
Petawawa Heritage Village, 176 Civic Centre Road, is the town's pioneer village, run by the Petawawa Heritage Society. In its own words it celebrates the settlement era and the immigrant stories of early Canada: its archives and collections focus on the German founding families and reach back thousands of years to the traditions and teachings of the First Nations people. The grounds hold restored and replica settlement-era buildings -- a blacksmith shop, a schoolhouse and a train station among them on visitor surfaces -- with historical tours and artisan markets among its published forms. Place records give a Tuesday-to-Saturday daytime season; the day's hours, tour times and admission live on petawawaheritagevillage.com, never frozen here, because the surfaces reached disagree on the exact grid and the operator's own page governs. The Ramble's own surfaces carry the year's programme; the Village's fall weekend is the anchor, and the town-wide displays are read on the Ramble's pages.
The food day
Renfrew County's food festival comes to the Petawawa Civic Centre on the accounts reached -- a day to buy local food products from county vendors under one roof. The year's date and vendor list live with the festival and the Town. the Civic Centre in brief: 16 Civic Centre Road -- arena (554 seats), 6,000 sq ft hall (272), library on campus, mini-putt in summer; grids with the Town.
The walking market
the Petawawa Container Market, on Civic Centre Road by the Civic Centre, is the town's market form on the event listings reached: Friday-night market sessions and Saturday shopping through the season, with live music among its published draws. Around it sit the Town's food events: Taste of the Valley, the Renfrew County food festival hosted at the Petawawa Civic Centre in September on the accounts reached, and the Town's own Farm to Trail, a walking market along the Algonquin Trail starting at 3119-B Petawawa Boulevard, whose passport the Town prices at $60 plus HST for the exclusive tastings and gifts, with non-ticketed browsing free at the vendors. Season dates and vendor lists live with the Town and the market, never projected here.
The market season, the weekly festival
the Container Market in brief: the town's market on Civic Centre Road by the Civic Centre -- Friday-night and Saturday sessions in season, vendors, food and live entertainment on its published draws; grids with the market and the Town. Around it, the Town's food events -- Taste of the Valley in September and Farm to Trail on the Algonquin Trail -- give the market season its two big days, each documented on the markets page of this guide.
The discipline note on community meals
A discipline note, printed so it never fades: the community-meals file for Petawawa is at an interim stage in the town's dossier, and this guide asserts NO meal verdict -- no church supper, club dinner or seniors' lunch is presented here as a verified listing. Community meals will be read in the bulletins and on the surfaces of the town's organizations when the dossier has settled them.
