Live music in Alma: the diffuseur's stage and the festival shore
Chanson, a string quartet and a July shore -- the town's music, in its real rooms.
Live music in Alma: a diffuseur's stage, a festival shore, and a summer theatre
Alma hears its live music the way a regional capital does: on its diffuseur's stage through the season, on a festival shore in July, and under the summer theatre's roof at Dam-en-Terre. The rooms are named, the dates on this page come from the diffuseur's and organizers' own surfaces, and nothing is padded with a bar-band scene that was never verified.
The season's stage: Ville d'Alma Spectacles, the town's own diffuseur, which programmes the Salle Michel-Côté (605 boul. Saint-Luc, in the Pavillon Wilbrod-Dufour -- a hall of the Centre de services scolaire du Lac-Saint-Jean; a directory variant seats the salle at 850 av. Bégin, flagged here and never merged) and the cabaret room La Boîte à Bleuets, downtown. The October 2026 slate, all at 20 h on the diffuseur's own surface: at the Salle, Liliane Blanco-Binette | Toréador (Fri Oct 9), Dan Bigras | Cette voix (Sun Oct 11), Michel Barrette | Drôle depuis 1957 (Fri Oct 16), Un piano et des mots (Fri Oct 23) and the Quatuor Saguenay | Point de rencontre (Sat Oct 24); at La Boîte à Bleuets, Alphonse Bisaillon (Sat Oct 17), La Boîte à Boldock - Cabaret 2 (Tue Oct 27) and Guillaume Pineault | En rodage (Wed Oct 28). Tickets run through the diffuseur's own billetterie, with points of sale at the Bibliothèque d'Alma and the Salle itself.
Where the music is
The concert bills
October 2026 carries the range: Dan Bigras | Cette voix (Sun Oct 11, chanson), Un piano et des mots (Fri Oct 23, revue musicale) and the Quatuor Saguenay | Point de rencontre (Sat Oct 24, concert) -- a string quartet whose name carries the region and whose seat, on this bill, is Alma's salle. Humour fills the same stage (Blanco-Binette Oct 9, Barrette Oct 16) -- the festivals page owns those bills.
The summer shore
Festirame, the town's summer flagship, run by Festivalma on Place Festivalma and the Grande Décharge shore: the 53rd edition ran July 3-11, 2026, closing with La Grande Nuit d'Alma -- PAST at this build, carried as canon, never as a plan. One flag rides the record unmerged: the festival's own programme span reads 'du 3 au 10 juillet' while the Grande Nuit closing night fell on Saturday July 11; both readings print here, neither is silently preferred. The festival's heart is the water -- the rowing-marathon tradition of the Club d'aviron d'Alma -- and Parc Falaise, on the downtown shore, hosts its closing-fireworks tradition. Across the river, the théâtre d'été at the Centre de villégiature Dam-en-Terre, 1385 chemin de la Marina, across the Grande Décharge -- Alma's own recreation site, Ville-owned and managed by Développement Économique Alma Lac-Saint-Jean since January 1, 2025: a campground of 278 sites, chalets, a plage publique, the Port de plaisance d'Alma marina (its Saison 2026 plaisancier rules are published), a théâtre d'été and a navette nautique. It is also the town's triathlon ground: the Triathlon Desjardins d'Alma, 5th edition, ran there on Saturday July 11, 2026 -- PAST. The summer stage is a season, and the season is past at this build -- its shape is printed, its next dates are the operators' to publish.
The small room
The cabaret room's music bills (Alphonse Bisaillon, Sat Oct 17, 2026) are the intimate end of the diffuseur's programme -- chanson at arm's length, at 20 h, booked through the same billetterie.
Reading the season honestly
Alma's music year peaks twice: outdoors in July (Festirame, and the Festival des bières' stage on the church parking at month's end) and indoors from September, when the diffuseur's season and the Festival d'humour's evenings overlap. Between peaks, the Salle's monthly bills and the cinema's grid carry the town. A dedicated live-music bar scene was not verified on any operator surface -- the music is in the rooms named here, and the rooms are enough.
Common questions
Where can I hear live music in Alma?
At the Salle Michel-Côté (the diffuseur's stage: Dan Bigras Oct 11, Un piano et des mots Oct 23, Quatuor Saguenay Oct 24, 2026) and La Boîte à Bleuets (Alphonse Bisaillon Oct 17); in summer, at Festirame (Jul 3-11, 2026, PAST) and the théâtre d'été at Dam-en-Terre.
Does Alma have a music festival?
Festirame is the town's summer flagship with music at its core (53rd edition, Jul 3-11, 2026, PAST). There is no separate dedicated music festival verified; the Festival d'humour (Sep 4-6, 2026) and the diffuseur's season carry the rest of the year.
