Festivals & the year round

Grimsby's festival year: a real spine, and what does not exist, in print

One dated fair, a holiday spine -- and the mirages closed before they cost anyone a trip.

Festivals in Grimsby, all year: one dated fair, a holiday spine, and the traps closed in print

Grimsby's festival year has a real spine and three well-documented mirages, and this page prints both at full strength. The spine is municipal and seasonal: a spring book-arts fair, a summer of park programming and a Thursday market, a fall of harvest and Halloween events, and a December parade. The mirages -- an unpublished Christmas festival window, an undated signature art show, and a rib festival that happens somewhere else -- are closed below, because a guide that hides them manufactures plans that fail.

The one festival in town with an organizer-published date on its own surface this year: the annual Wayzgoose Book Arts Fair, at the Grimsby Public Art Gallery, 18 Carnegie Lane, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., free admission -- the gallery's book-arts fair, running since 1979, its organizer's stated date agreeing with its own last-Saturday-in-April rule. Past at this build, carried as canon, the way a year-round guide should carry it.

The year's ring, season by season

Fall: harvest, Halloween and remembrance

Moonlight Market, the Pumpkin Parade and the cenotaph

The Town's own fall page carries the season: the Moonlight Market and Movie on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Coronation Park, with free trick-or-treating and a film, and the Grimsby Glows Pumpkin Parade on Sunday, November 1, 2026, run by Rotary and the Town (a pumpkin count is deliberately not printed -- the Town's page and a secondary guide disagree, and the disagreement is not resolved by picking the bigger number). Then the season turns: Grimsby's holiday spine, at the strength each piece is verified. Remembrance Day is staged dated: Wednesday, November 11, 2026, 10:45 a.m., at the Grimsby Museum cenotaph, on the Town's own fall-events page -- a regional roundup's 10:30 a.m. reading is flagged, never merged, and the Town's 2026 page governs. Canada Day's 2026 production is verified (Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., free, with stage performances, family activities, a DJ and food) and carries a venue conflict flagged, never merged: a regional roundup and a 2023 municipal sampling seat it at the Grimsby Museum, while another research record seats the Town's 2026 day at Coronation Park -- the next seat waits for the Town's own publication, never a resolution by assertion here. The Christmas spine is the 69th Santa Claus Parade, Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 5:15 p.m., and the Town's named Celebration of Lights, Tree Lighting and Mayor's Annual Levee, undated on the surfaces reached and never dated by derivation.

Summer: the park programme and the market

Music, movies and Thursday evenings, all concluded for 2026

The Town's summer layer is a programme, not a single weekend: Music in the Park and Movies in the Park on its own surfaces, the Casa Shoreline Social on the waterfront, and above all the Thursday market -- the Grimsby Farmers' Market, whose 2026 season is staged and now concluded: Thursdays from June 4 to October 8, 2026, 3 to 7 p.m., in a two-seat split -- June 4 to 18 on Main Street East downtown (Christie to Ontario), and June 25 to October 8 in the Peach King Centre parking lot behind Town Hall. The season's final day was Thursday, October 8, 2026 -- the day this guide was built -- so the cadence prints as the concluded season's, with a spring return to be read on the operator's own surface when it publishes. Older descriptions that put the market downtown all season, or starting in May, are flagged here and never merged with the 2026 record. Add the Peachbud run in Canada Week: Jerry's Peachbud, the town's own road race on the Niagara Running Series' own surface, ran Tuesday, June 30, 2026 -- past at this build, printed as the shape of the town's running year: the Peach Pal 1K at 6:30 p.m., the 5K at 7:00 p.m. and the 10K at 7:30 p.m., from 5 Boulton Avenue, expressly part of the Town's Canada Week festivities. One flag rides it unmerged: the series page names the venue Central Public School and the registration page names Central French Immersion Public School -- one school, one address, the building that housed Grimsby Secondary School until it closed in 2022; the current name governs.

Spring and the book arts

Wayzgoose at the gallery, and the library's year

the Grimsby Public Library and the Grimsby Public Art Gallery share one complex at 18 Carnegie Lane -- a single-branch municipal library (the Town's own, with programmes running on the municipal calendar at calendar.grimsby.ca) and the gallery beside it. The library's Grimsby Author Series is a dated layer in its own right, with fall evenings staged for Friday, October 23 and Friday, November 27, 2026. The gallery's own classes page is current with dated children's programming, its current exhibition runs this fall, and an auction on its surfaces ends November 6, 2026. Wayzgoose is the spring anchor; around it the library's programme grid and the gallery's classes carry the season indoors.

The traps, closed in print

Three festival traps govern Grimsby's year, and this guide closes each in print. The Fantasy of Trees, the Rotary festival at the Grimsby Museum, is verified at pattern grade only: its 2026 dates are UNPUBLISHED -- an organizer window floating in listings (a Thursday, November 27 to Sunday, December 7 span) weekday-matches the 2025 edition, not 2026, and it is never re-dated here. The Grimsby Festival of Art, the town's signature one-day September juried show since 1967, has no organizer-published 2026 date on any surface reached, and no September Saturday is derived for it. And Grimsby RibFest is not a Grimsby event: the Town's own tourism strategy notes that it happens outside Grimsby, so it is never presented here as one.

There is NO agricultural society seated in Grimsby, and no Grimsby fall fair -- a verified negative, not a gap. The provincial agricultural-societies directory names no Grimsby-seated society; the area society is the West Niagara Agricultural Society, seated at 7402 Mud Street West, Grassie, which is West Lincoln, formed in 2012 from the Lincoln and Smithville societies. Its fair, September 11-13, 2026, is West Lincoln's record, even though its grounds sit inside a 10-kilometre circle drawn around Grimsby's Town Hall and some listings geocode them as Grimsby. Seat governs, never geometry, and no 4-H show inside that fair is co-claimed here. One discipline note, printed so it is never blurred: this town's community-meal record is at an interim stage, and this guide asserts NO meal verdict anywhere -- no food-bank programme, parish potluck or club supper is presented here as a listing. The held leads stay with the researchers who hold them until a host's own surface settles cadence, price and openness together.

Common questions

What is Grimsby's biggest festival?

By organizer record, the dated anchor is the Wayzgoose Book Arts Fair (Sat Apr 25, 2026, at the Public Art Gallery, since 1979). The Grimsby Festival of Art is the town's signature September art show by history, but no organizer-published 2026 date was found, so none is printed. Fantasy of Trees' 2026 dates are unpublished -- a floating window in listings belongs to the 2025 edition and is never re-dated here.

Is there a fall fair in Grimsby?

No. No agricultural society is seated in Grimsby. The West Niagara Agricultural Society's fair (Sep 11-13, 2026) is seated in Grassie, West Lincoln, and is West Lincoln's record.

When is Canada Day in Grimsby?

The Town's 2026 production ran Wed Jul 1, 2026, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., free. Its venue record conflicts -- Grimsby Museum in a regional roundup and a 2023 sampling, Coronation Park in another research record -- flagged, never merged; the next seat waits for the Town's own publication.
