Indoor activities in Lakeshore: one very big building carries the weather days
Lakeshore's indoor bench starts with a single flagship and fans out from it: the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre, 447 Renaud Line Road, Belle River -- the Municipality's flagship, at roughly 200,000 square feet: three NHL-size ice pads (the Rock Developments Rink, with about 1,005 fixed seats, the Shuren Rink and Rink C), an aquatic centre with a lap pool and lazy river, an indoor track, a gymnasium, the Essex County Library's Lakeshore Branch inside, and soccer fields, courts, a splash pad and trails outside. It is home ice for the town's hockey, from minor hockey to the junior Canadiens
Around it, the town stacks its halls: the Libro Centre in South Woodslee, the Comber Community Centre, two Legion halls, the Good Neighbour Club and the parish hall -- ten producing halls in the town's census, each with its own programme. Atlas Tube Recreation Centre
Three pads of public skating and hockey, the aquatic centre's lap pool and lazy river, the indoor track and gymnasium, and the library branch inside -- the Town's most complete bad-weather answer. Essex County Library, four branches in town
Children's, family and adult programming publishes branch by branch on the library's own calendar. A rainy day with a dated library programme is Lakeshore's most reliable indoor plan -- the calendar, not the weather, decides.
Libro Centre and Comber Community Centre
The Libro Centre (1925 South Middle Road) runs the town's southern programming with its library branch inside; the Comber Community Centre anchors the fair town, home to Camp Comber in summer and the fair's own ground in August. Both publish through the Town's recreation surfaces.
The halls
Legion Branch 399's hall in Belle River and Branch 241's in Comber, the Belle River Lions Clubhouse at 41 Lions Club Road, St. Simon and St. Jude Parish Hall and the Good Neighbour Club: the rooms where the town's indoor social life actually happens, on their hosts' own notices.
