Date ideas

Date ideas in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield: water first, then a room with a bill

Afternoons on the baie and the islands, evenings in the town's real rooms -- dated, not generic.

Date ideas in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield: the baie does the work

Valleyfield is an easy town to date in, because its best rooms stand close together and its water does the romantic labour for free. The classic shape: an afternoon layer (museum, islands, market in season), a supper downtown in the Quartier gourmand -- the Chamber's name for the dozen or so restaurants within a five-minute walk downtown -- and a dated evening in a real room.

The evening anchors are published, not hoped for: The dated spine of Valspec's autumn 2026 programme, from the presenter's own pages: Loud on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at the Salle Albert-Dumouchel; Christophe Dupere on Friday, November 20, 2026 at La Factrie; and Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais on Friday, November 27, 2026 at the Salle Albert-Dumouchel. No prices were published on the venue surfaces verified, so none are printed here. Valspec also sells shows at partner venues outside town -- every Valspec record in this guide passed the seat test: the room named is in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield

Dates that work, season by season

The fall date

MUSO by day, Valspec by night

ENTITE at the MUSO (October 3-31, 2026, ages 13+) for the brave, a calmer museum afternoon for everyone else, then Loud (October 15) or Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais (November 27) at the Salle Albert-Dumouchel -- or the free Chiens Dog bill at La Factrie on October 16.

The summer date

The baie, the park and the festival nights

A Delpha-Sauve afternoon, the market on its Saturdays (the 2026 season ended September 26), a Regates evening inside July 3-12 or an arts-festival day (August 8-9) -- summer dates here plan themselves around the park.

The winter date

Curling, hockey and the small rooms

the Club de curling Valleyfield, 19 rue Maden -- the town's own curling club, in its own rink with three sheets (glaces), verified operating for the 2026-27 season from the club's own surfaces: its Tarification page carries the 2026-27 fee schedule, including the Curling Quebec amount, and registration runs through the club directly. The club's own history page dates the practice of curling in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield to about 1883 and the club's official founding to 1900, in the MOCO Club built by the Montreal Cotton company; women's curling at the club dates to 1933. No oldest or first claim is printed, because the club makes none on the surfaces read. Its junior introduction programme runs mid-October to early April, about one hour per session, per its Ligues et horaires page An initiation hour at the club, a Braves night, or a Cabaret d'Albert bill is the winter shape.

The day date

The islands and the shuttle

The Parc regional des Iles-de-Saint-Timothee in beach season, or the Navark shuttle across to Les Coteaux (outside town, labelled as itself) and back -- a date with a boat in it, at excursion scale.

Booking discipline

Valspec sells through Tuxedo Billet from its own pages; La Factrie's free bills still reward arriving early; the MUSO's ENTITE run needs its performance grid confirmed with the operator. Nothing on this page invents a price, a tasting menu or a sunset cruise -- the river excursions are excursions, and the dates above are the ones the hosts publish.

Common questions

What is a good first date in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield?

A MUSO afternoon and a Valspec evening, with supper downtown between them -- or, in season, a market Saturday on the ruelle de la Quenouille and an afternoon at parc Delpha-Sauve.

What is a romantic evening in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield?

A Cabaret d'Albert or Cafe Chez Rose bill at 169 rue Champlain after a walk on the Delpha-Sauve shore -- or the baie at dusk during a festival evening at the park.
